Cowen, former world's champion endurance walker and boxer, acrobat and rope dancer, discussed physical fitness before the Cohoes Rotary Club last week at the group's luncheon in the OCA Hall. A native of Utica, Cowen said he walks at least 10 to 30 miles 1 each Sunday.

His last long- distance walking venture, he said, was in May of J958 when he traveled on foot from Chicago to New York City in 18 days. Cowen stated he believes walk- Ing is better as a "work-out" a golfing or jogging, which he considers limited in action. He added that on such walks one should reach a speed high. er' than his average walking pace. He also gave a demonstration in jumping rope and dancing to illustrate their' advantages as daily exercises.

Malpass and Mrs. Ethel Kennedy have been named chairman and cochairman respectively of the 1 1968 Christmas Seal Campaign in Cohoes, according to Harold F. Reichcnthal, president of the Albany County Tuberculosis and Respiratory Disease Association, Inc. 30 The Cohoes High School Parent Teachers Association will ircsent a concert in the new ligh school auditorium Nov. 30 at 8 p.m., with Mvs. Ellen Cuba as chairman and Mrs Olga Green, cochairman. The concert feature the Russian Orthodox Male Choru of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church of Cohoes which was organized in 1963 to promote Russian culture through music.

The chorus maintains the tradition of Russian acapella singing, with no musical instruments, presenting an authentic interpretation of Russian liturgical and folk music. Conductor of the group, which consists of approximately 30 members, is Ronald P. Geleta. The chorus has appeared at West Point, Poughkeepsie, Hudson Valley Community College ind Herkimer. Mr. Hickey's Funeral Rites SetToday Funeral services for John J. Hickey, 82, of 87 Mohawk Cohoes, a retired employe of the Cohoes Water Bureau who died Thursday at Cohoes Memorial Hospital after a brief illness, will be held today at 9 a.m. rom the Ernest L. Dufresne Funeral Home, 282 Remsen and at 9:30 a.m.

Mr. Hickey was born in Wa- ervliet but had resided in Co- iocs the greater part of his life.
