Penn-Central To Open New Rensselaer Station Dec. 29 The Penn-Central Railroad an nounced Thursday it would open its modern new Albany-Rensselaer passenger station, serving the Albany, Troy and Rensselaer areas, at 11 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29. The station is located off East Street and is bordered by Broadway on the west, Herrick Street on the south and Partition Street on the north.

It is approximately 10 minutes from Downtown Albany, the best access to the new facility being across the Dunn Memorial Bridge, following 3rd Avenue across a second bridge on Rt. 43 passing over the Penn- Central main line to the first traffic light, then left on Adams Street, Adams to East, where a right turn is made. The.station is about a half mile on East Street on the left. Coming from'Troy one would come in via Defreestville to Washington Avenue Extension, west on Washington Avenue to Third Street, south in Third to Partition Street, east in Partition to East Street, south in East Street to.the station. Details Of Station The new station is one-story facility, measuring 175 feet by 64 feet, with a waiting room measuring 39 feet by 68 feet, a seating capacity of 84 persons.

A parking lot is available for 150 autos, in front of the station. Taxi service will be available from both Troy and Al bany as well as bus service from Troy to -Albany; A bus service, East Street line, Ro'ute 15, United.
