Louis business visitor last Thursday. N. W. Gish went to St. Louis last Thursday and recovered his Mercury automobile, which was stolen frem the rear of his home the previous Sunday night.

He sold the car in St. Louis. Lt. Berniece McGhee, who has been with the armed forces in France and Germany as a nurse, returned to the United States last Thursday, and has been sent to Fort Des Moines. Iowa, for separation.

Meyer, who is Employed by the Missouri Conservation Commission at Jefffer-son City, spent the weekend here with his family, and they accompanied him on his return. Mr. and Mrs. Meyer and children will make their home in California, and Art will motor to his office in Jefferson City. Lt.

Clinton G. Sweazca received his honorable discharge from the Army at Jefferson Barraks last Thursday, and lias returned to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. G.

Mrs. G. E. Knox and children came down from Ironton last Thursday and she and Dr. Knox are now living in their home which they purchased from F.

W. E. Harris 37 FRANKLIN HASTINGS SUMMONED IN DEATH Franklin Edward Hasting; died at his home in South Piedmont last Thursday, November 29, of tuberculosis, following a lingering illness, at the age of 27 years, 6 months and 12 days.
