1956 HM Steele Native Of Knox Dies Heath McClung Steele native Knoxviilian who had served as vice president and a director of American Metal Co Ltd since 19 23 died Tuesday in New York City He was 71 Henry Clay Long a sister of 2020 Ogden Street left this morning York Mrs Long said Mr Steele and his wife had returned recently from a Caribbean trip in ill health for one-half years Mr Steele attended the Bak-er-Himel School here and graduated from University of Tennessee going to Goldfield Nev later In 1911 he came back East and then for five years worked as a mine appraiser in Michigan He then went to New York City as a construction engineer and later joined American Metal He had also served as an official of several subsidiary companies of America Metal During World War II he served the Office of Production Management in Washington ii Mr Steele is survived by his wife daughter Mrs Sheridan i Fohnestock Park Hall Md sons Heath Steele Baltimore Md and David Steele New I York He was an uncle of Mrs Boy-den Leach of Knoxville Mrs Ferdinand Powell Jr of John son City and Dr Henry Health Long of Bayonne i The body will be taken to St City Md for burial in the St Episcopal
