a a a i a i a i proposal, which he backs, represents a compromise. He added that he hoped the legislature would pass that proposal, but would not release the details of the "compromise." Representatives from the executive department and the legislature met twice in the past several weeks to attempt to reach a compromise between the two plans, but, after Monday's session, Minority Leader Abbott i a i a proposal be placed on the agenda and be put to a vote tonight. I legislature will pass the measure tonight," Murphy said. "This is a once in a lifetime chance. If it doesn't pass, we'll have to wait until June, and there may not be any federal funding left by then." Although both plans utilize existing county programs and facilities, the basic difference is that the legislature's proposal may cost $10,794, while the cost estimate of executive's plan, formulated i i a Girzone, is $243,408.

However, according to Murphy, the county's share of Girzone's proposal, originally said to be more than $58,000, is actually $4,878. The higher figure was reached through an alleged misconception that the 'entire $243,408 was new funding. Actually, Murphy claims, Girzone included in his plan money that had already been budgeted and that the new funding is $97,575, with only five per cent being provided by the county. Girzone was unavailable for comment. Johnstown, N.Y.; sister of Mrs.
