The NFL proceeded with its scheduled program, only two days after the assassination of President Kennedy, while the American Football League postponed a four-game program, NFL club spokesmen admitted receiving phone calls protesting the decision to go ahead with Sunday's schedule. But these same spokesmen said that the reserved seats in their parks Questions Arise For New Entry FORT WORTH (UPI) The Texas League's entry into Fort Worth next season raised a lot of questions Sunday that may not be settled until the minor league meetings next month in San Diego. i The action, announced Saturday by Texas League President Dick Butler, splits up what had been a joint Dallas-Fort Worth franchise in the Pacific Coast League and creates a seven -team Texas League.

The Chicago Cubs, who own baseball park here, will provide players and a manager for the team, but no announcement has been as to the owner of the new Class AA franchise. The Cubs also own the Amarillo franchise in the Texas League and will have to pull out of that city in order to operate here. Whether Amarillo would remain in "the league under other ownership and an eighth team added, or whether Amarillo would lose its team entirely remained a matter to be settled. Ray Johnston, owner of the Dallas-Fort Worth Rangers, said he was "surprised and disappointed" in the Texas League's raid of his territory, which he claimed was in "poor taste at this time." Johnston had operated the joint club for three years with the hope of it eventually becoming a major league territory, but has suffered financial losses and only recently wanted to sell the club to local interests for $137,000. There has talk among baseball men -that -the -Pacific League might drop the Texas and Oklahoma City franchises because of high travel costs.

These matters' were due to be taken up at San Diego. By HAROLD V.
