like singing a song here this afternoon Not a victory song to celebrate 14-7 victory over Mississippi State but one for Joe Fortunato the speedy giant who played both offense and defense for State on a fine game Neyland told the senior feel like singing glad gone you rascal It was final appearance against Tennessee and today like all others he was a great line b2cker Neyland visited the State players after the game and congratulated several of them on a fine showing Charlie Harding Leads Way Over Commodores By ED JOYNER United Press Sports Writer CHARLOTTESVILLE Va Sept -Charlie Harding a senior quarterback started his first varsity football game today and led Virginia to a 27 to 0 victory over a Vanderbilt team that was outweighed outplayed and outsmarted Filling in for injured sophomore star Mel Roach Harding ran experienced split-T attack with ruthless efficiency while the strong Cavalier defense smothered Commodore runners and passers Wasps Beat C-Newman By 7 To 2
