NKWS-IIKKAr.l), I 'aiuimu Cily, Fla., TiM 's«ltty, ScptomlMT 18,1973 Page 7A By Abigail Van Buren •t \m 6t cnuiio Ttibunt -N. Y. News Synd., Inc. DEAR ABBY: Can a man tell if a woman has had silicone implants to enlarge her breasts! IF don't mean by looking, I mean by touching. 1 I've talked to two girls who have had it done, and one says a man would have to be awfully dumb not to know, because hers feel like grapefruit. She said she's not sorry she did it because they look fine. The other girl said nobody could tell she had anything done. Are there any telltale marks? What do your experts have to say about this? CONSIDERING IT DEAR CONSIDEIIINO: T».,. girl with the "grapefruit" mu8t have had her implants some time ago when harder materials were used. Softer materials are now used that fee! like the real thing. To answer your question: Whether a man could tell if a woman had had a breast implant would depend on the amount of breast tissue she had l)cfore surgery and the way she healed. The only telltale marks arc the tiny scars under the breasts, which in time become practically invisible. And if a layman tried to prove that a girl had had it done, he'd have his hands full. DEAR ABBY: This may sound like I'm bragging, and I suppose I am, but this is the way it was; A couple of weeks ago I was walking past my husband's chair in the living room when he reached out and took my hand and said: "Honey, will you marry me?" [We were married in 1935!! I said; "Are you trying to tell me we aren't married after all thfese years?" He grinned and replied: "Oh, we're good and married. I'm taking an early retirement, and we're going to start all over again, just the two of us, like we did 38 years ago. If you'd like to go thru another wedding with me, I'd like it, too." Well, I sat down and bawled. I called a local minister and explained it to him, saying I hoped he wouldn't think it was funny. He said he didn't think it was funny at all, he thought it was beautiful, and he agreed to perform the ceremony for us. [We didn't need another license or blood test.] My sister, who lives in Bishop, Calif., was my bridesmaid when we were first married, so I called her and asked if she'd do it again. She said: "Tell me when you want me, and I'll be there if I have to take a bus." My brother will be our best man. This may strike you as nothing special, but it sure means the world to me. MARRYING DON AGAIN BALDWIN PARK, GAL. DEAR MARRYING: I think it's beautiful. Congratulations and God bless you. More couples should renew their marriage vows. Problems? You'll feel better if you get it off your chest. For a personal reply, write to ABBY: Box No. 69700, L. A., Calif. 90069. Enclose stamped, self-addressed envelope, please. Invented more or less independently by William McKenney, who wrote this column up to his death in 1949, E, M. Lagron and Hy Lavinthal, it is valuable when used with intelligence." Jim: "U.sed with intelligence means that you consider it as a supplementary signal that does not conflict with such normal signals as high for strength;! low for weakness; fourth best • leads, etc," Oswald: "Today's hand is taken from a 1936 article by McKenney which shows the convention at its best." Jim; "West opens the three of clubs. East wms the ace and returns the nine of clubs. West ruffs and if he is alert he reads that nine-spot as a suit preference recjuest for a lead of the higher side suit. He trusts his partner; leads a heart in spile of South's previous heart bid, " Oswald: "East wins and gives his partner another club ruff. A diamond return would have made it possible for South to draw trumps and wrap up the game and ruhber. Of course, three no-trump would make, but the four-spade contract is the normal one."
