Secretary Burdette Is anxious that farmers in need of cotton pickers and laborers In need of work get in touch with him so that he can render both a service.

He will have the co-operation of the employment division of the United States department of labor at Fort Worth In this effort and they will send a man to Hillsboro about September 5 to assist in any way that he can. All of the boys reported a good time and look to have gained a few pounds In weight and a good coat of tan. SMITH WINS HANDICAP PLAT HILLSBORO, Aug. 25 second handicap tournament of the season for the Hillsboro Golf club was ended this morning with Dr. Ben C. Smith winner over H. Denman, T-5, for the championship of the second flight, and Belo Smith winner over John Wynne, 4-3, for championship of the third flight.

In the semi-finals, H. G. Denman had eliminated Reed Lowrey, 2-1, and Dr. Smith was winner over Olney Davis, 5-4, In the second flight In third flight, John Wynne beat rtis Patterson up and was hatched with Belo Smith, who was passed. Dr.

Smith will receive a pair of golf knickers donated to by Roddy Bros. A Hendler. and Belo Smith will be given one-half dozen golf balls by the City Drug Store. The tournament committee of the club announce that they will hold a next week. They also state that they will have some 25 members of the Ennis Country club here Sunday to play with the members of the local club.
