tec. Ill Sb* Itigtaum TKurtday, June 5, 1969 NEW PRESIDENT of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Mass., for the year 1369-1970, is Miss L. Ivirny Gwaiter, a resident nf Huston. Miss Gwaiter served as a Director of the Church for 20 years. She resigned from that position in 1968 to devote full time to the public practice of Christian Science. She has been a member of the Church since J90-1 and an active Christian Science teacher and public practitioner. Hum hie Offers New Revolving Credit Plan HOUSTON (Sp) — As an added service to its customers Humble Oil & Refining Company will offer a revolving charge account to its credit card customers effective July 1, the company announced today. Under the plan, a customer can pay his full balance each month without a finance charge or can elect to pay generally as little as 10 per cent of the unpaid balance, according to H. W. jVIcKim, Humble credit manager. The minimum payment under the revolving charge account arrangement is $10. On new balances between $100-500,10 per cent of such amount is due. New balances over $500 will require a minimum payment of $50 plus 20 per cent of the amount over $500. The finance charges generally will be the same as prevailing for other revolving credit plans such as those of department and furniture stores and specialty shops. A customer making deferred payments will have the right to pay his total balance at any time without further finance charges. iVlcKim said the customer also will have the choice each month of paying the minimum amount due, the total amount due or any amount between. Within the next few weeks, Mumble's credit card customers will be given detailed information covering the plan. F. R. CURTISS F. R. Curtiss Observes 35th Year With Shell F. R. Curtiss, a native of Crosby, and 1930 graduate of Crosby High School, has been honored by the Shell Chemical Co. on his 35th anniversary with the firm. During a special awards luncheon, Curtiss' was presented a diamond studded pin in recognition of his distinguished Shell service. He is presently employed as training supervisor at the Company's Deer Park Plant. Curtiss started his Shell career Ln 1334 and was initially assigned as a salesman at the Houston sales and service department. He later transferred to the Houston refinery in 1935 where he completed several operating assignments. During 194S, Curtiss was appointed an operator at the chemical plant. He was promoted to shift foreman in maintenance engineering during 1953 and later completed supervisor assignments in the shipping and plastics and resins departments. Curtiss assumed his present position in 1968. ' Curtiss and his wife, the former EarJine Catherine Milliard, also of Crosby, currently reside on Old Dayton Road in Crosby. The couple has one married daughter, Mrs. Kelly Dowe, and a son, Clarke, 20, a senior at the University of Texas. Curtiss is a former director of the Crosby School District Board and has been a member of the Crosby Methodist Church since 1927.
