Page 2 UFDrive Goal $226,200 On June 2. 1957. the News-Herald carried the following statement: Few proposals will be welcomed more heartily Kickoff Breakfast Thursday The 1973 Bay County United Fund campaign will officially begin with a kick-off breakfast Thursday at 7:30 a.m. at the Seven Seas Restaurant. A special surprise program is planned for the 1973 kickoff breakfast and this year's format at the breakfast will be entirely new. At the breakfast the divisional chairmen will be recognized and their specific goals announced. The 1973 kickoff breakfast for the United Fund is being sponsored by Commercial Bank and Panama Machinery and Supply. Chairman for the kickoff breakfast this year is George Logue, assistant vice president of Bay National Bank. by the general public in Panama City and Bay County than that advanced for a United-Fund organization to combine all charity fund-raising drives into one annual all-out campaign. The goal for the first Bay County United Fund drive was $110,000 in 1957. The goal for the 1973 United Fund in Bay County is $226,200. The same policv of 1957 is true today — combining various charity fund-raising drives into one annual campaign. Recipient agencies for 1973 are: American Red Cross, Arthritis Foundation, Bay County Council on Aging, Boys Club of Bay County, Boy Scouts, Child Service Center, Children's Home Society, Family Service Agency, Girl Scouts, Mental Health Association, United Cerebral Palsy of Panama City, USO, and Youth Activities of Tyndall AFB. The Admission and Allocations committee is the one which determines the allocations for member agencies in the Bay County United Fund. Campaign Lists Officers Harry Smith is the president of the 1973 United Fund officers. The drive co-chairmen are Les Jinks and Dan McLean. First vice president is Jimmy Lewis, second vice p resident is Creed Greer, third vice president is Charley Gramling, secretary for the United Fund is J.W. Peacock, treasurer is Eugene Herron, and immediate past president is Earl Cochran. The United Fund executive committee includes all officers plus Division Chairmen Named The following is a list of divisional chairman and their goals for the 1973 United Fund drive. With him on the committee are: John Hutt Sr., Mozelle Nealy, Jimmy Patronis,Kenneth J. Covey, Charlie Adams, Don Willis, Jack Hamm, Warfield Bennett, Charlie Everett, Curtis Jackson, and Terry Wyatt. Public relations committee chairman is Bill Thomas. With him on the committee are: Paul Airy, Milton Fulton, Robert Koehnemann, Robert Cogburn, Charles Fischer, Bill Holland III, Rev.
