victory each and set the stage for the third and deciding game in the same setting at 8 Thursday night Fans were treated to another brilliantly played game between the city rivals with the YMCA quint pulling from behind an 11-8 deficit at the quarter to move into a three-point 20 to 17 advantage at the half The third period saw them pull away to hold a 35-25 lead when the quarter ended and they outscored the Legionnaires 13-11 in the final canto to post their 12-ijoint victory Max Pennington voted tne standout player In the recent Cjpld Medal tournament at Kingsport had another great night for Hack-ler-Wood scoring 17 points before he fouled out late In the fourth period Bill Hunigan followed him with 11 points with Earl Rogers Boyce Cox Rogers and Junior Johnson featuring defensively Standing out in the YMCA victory was the stellar play of Morrell at forward the rangy ex-Sewanee star hitting the bucket for nine points and playing one of the best defensive games of the season Ralph Harkleroad at center and Danny Drinkard and Pierce forwards each came through with nine points with Ken Messerole Louis Romine Charlie Phipps Morrell and Johnson playing fine defensive ball The victory was a costly one for the YMCA as Morrell team captain sprained his ankle in the final period and Louise Romine went out of action In the initial quarter with a dislocated finger Morrell will be lost for the final game but there Is an outside chance that Romine may be in uniform In achieving its triumph the YMCA notched 21 field goals to 14 for the Legion and sank six out of eight free
