Scoutmasters, assistants, and troop commltteemen of the 124 Scout Troops in the Bay Area have been invited to attend. Serving with Apffel in charge of various sections of the day long training event are: John Cooper, Galveston, chairman ol promotion and registration} Alan Pinkertcn, Texas City, leading the "SHOWANDO Trail". , The "Worth Trying Arena" will beset up by BobChamber- lata of Angleton. Joe Hughes, of Hitchcock will chairman the "SHOWANDO Rally", and Bob Alcott, of Lake Jackson will direct the closing Campfire. Arrangements for feeding will be bandied by A. JT . LeGros, of Galveston, and the "Food Fair", which will Include a great variety of styles of outdoor cooking willbechairmaned by R. L. Hasselmeier also of Galveston. " TDI Slates Salute To Oil Industry The Texas Dow Institute will salute the oil industry Tuesday at the first meeting of the new season. The oil Industry this year is celebrating its 100th birthday. The TDI program wijl feature "Early Days of. the OH Industry." The speaker will be C. S. Harkins of the Ethyl Corporation. ' Haridn* to a field representative in the Ethyl Corporation Sales Department. A native ol Alabama, he received his bachelor 1 * degree in chemistry at theUnlversity of Alabama and did graduate work in geology. He served two years in the-Air Force as a first lieutenant.
