Nevertheless, the full push of the reds will probably not be felt on the area fishing until early this week, probably Monday through Thursday. With good weather on those days, 'the Jetties should be a rcdhot fishing spot. Right now some anglers are bringing large reds out of the bays, or going Into the cuts and canals to get twenty or more fish on their string. There was one report of a pair catching 31 reds in an area by, plus two large trout and one drum that hit the scales at 25 pounds. Reds were also being pulled .n around the mouth of the New Brazos River and throughout the surf waters. If the reds migrate from the Isle into this section of the Gulf Coast the overall picture should show a huge increase by next Thursday. One of the biggest hauls of redfish came from around the mouth of the New River, where a pair of fishermen landed around 40 large reds and lost several others. There was also a report of small tarpon still in the New ^iver. Freeport's Johnnie Barton hooked five silver kings recently while fishing near the hlghllnes. white flags waving even with the expected run of redfish. Local shrimp boat operators, working between the Jetties and Galveston, reported spotting several mackeral on a recent trjp.
