' » : S*' • a . r » ^ 1 t -1 1 EYES BEFIECT HEALTH How are your eyes? Take a mirror and really look at them. Are .the lashes sllXy and plentiful, • or are they sparse and dry- ish in appearance? Are the lids •*-,. .' r . .v , j ;- • 1 • , v> r//.. .'' t r •4<- * v '•V I'.. t - -'- r H- • ? • .' frrf I-.'-,-A * -.* r !VV -' % H; t . V-' " • f -" • if.' H*. - • vV: •• ,' r -. Eyes need their dally bath smooth and white and free from any granular specks, or are they red and irritated? And the whites of the eyee— are they free of any bloodshot markings, and bluish-white in color? If not, why aren't they? Now close one eye and Inspect the upper lid. Is the akin nice and soft, without any sign of crepincss or discoloration? It -should be. Look at your eyebrows. Are they well outlined from careful plucking of the straggly hairs, and daily smoothing with a little brush or a bit of oil? It is not at all becoming to pluck the brows to a very thin line. They should be kept In the natural line, with just the stray onea removed, somehow; and now that eyes are the important feature to be accented, It is high time we all got busy on them. As always, our first step Is cleansing. Use a solution of bo- raclc.acid and pour a little into a thoroughly clean eye-cup. Holding the head far back with the cup pressed over the eye, open the eye and roll It about. Now empty out the liquid, rinse the cup In fresh water and pour in more eye waah. Clense the other eye in the aamo fashion. Dry with a soft cloth by gently pressing It to the eyelids. Don't rub the eyes; It only Irritates them. This should be a nightly ritual If you want to keep the eyes young and sparkling. Now for nourishing, A clean bloodstream, which Is the result of correct diet, proper exercise and elimination, will be quickly reflected In greater eye beauty. When the system, especially the liver, Is sluggish, the eyes show a yellowish cast, and appear dull and uninteresting. So check on this angle. And be sure to Increase your Vitamin A foods. If you have started the eye exercises I gave you some time ago, you have already proven to yourself that blinking, squeezing and palming are most beneficial to eye health and beauty. This takes care of the stimulation of the blood circulation which feeds the eyes. , To protect the lids and lashes, It Is well to use a bit of lanolin on them each night, which keepa the skin soft and smooth and encourages. the growth of the lashes. Yo« will be surprised with the Increase In your eye beauty from Just a little attention. The eyes respond very quickly.
