The application should includp gasoline used from July ], 19fil through June 30, 1%2. Farmers who have filpd applications in, past years should have received their applicatir,ii forms in the mail, hut any who have not re- , ceiverl such forms may pick one up al my office. The Federal tax on gasotoie is 4 cents per gallon and the record of all gasoline used for farminc purposps should he kept hy the farm operator. Most gasoline used hy farmers will qualify for a refund except that which is used on (he highway even though the farmer may he transporting agricr tural products. The farmer may also claim :, refund on gasoline used hy ; neighbor, or a custom operator performing seivices on his farm, hut the farmer may not claim a refund for gasoline used in performing custom operations o n another farm where he is not Uie owner, tenant, or operator. I n other words, only the farmer on whose farm the gasoline is used may claim the refund, A pamphlet giving all information on the Federal gasoline tax refunds may also he secured fiom my office and will help the farmer to understand exactly how to file for this refund. The law will not permit Ihe payment, for refund on applications postmarked after Sept. 30. H H.
