D«c. 14, Hamline U. announces scholarships ST. PAUL, Minn.-Ham University, St. Paul, Minn., will award $45,600 in scholarships through its eighth annual com- petrtwe scholarship examination held, Saturday, Jan. 16, fl Ten full tuition scholarships worth $4,560 each, will be awarded students ranking highest m the examination. Financed from Hamline's regular scholarship fund, the four- year awards will become effective with the school year starting in September 1965. All seniors attending an accredited high school and who rank in the upper one-fifth of their class are eligible to compete. Applications for the examination are available through' Hamline's director of admissions, high school principals and counselors. They must be filed with the college not later than Jan 7, 1965. The examination will start at 10 a.m. and end at 4:15 p.m. Those participating will be guests of the college for lunch. The program, the first of its kind in the Midwest, was originated by Hamline to seek and financially aid talented high school seniors for a college education. In addition to the 70 winners, many students taking the exam have received substantial financial aid because of their high rating in the test.
