Operation HOPE, which stands for Hispanic Outreach Program for Emergency, will provide a medical clinic on every third Friday starting April 19. Clinic hours will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The clinic will be staffed with a registered nurse and a doctor, according to the Rev. Wenners Ballard Jr., Quayle pastor. An interpreter will be available and all medical forms will be in Spanish and English. The Salina program is a spinoff of a program operated in Wichita and Hutchinson through the United Methodist Ministry. An ESL program (English as a Second Language) will be offered starting April 23 and 25. Interested persons should call the church, 8254835, if they are interested in the program which is offered on Tuesday and Thursday. Exact meeting times will be announced later. Ballard hopes the two new programs may receive some funding through the church after the UMC receives funds from the sale of Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. The church also offers cooking classes from 10 a.m. to noon on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.
