Telegraph Water Carrier! THIS is a new and very useful invention for the purpose of raising and conveying water either from springs or wells, for domestic uses. It is also useful lor raising ores from mines, or any similar purpose. It ac complishes the same amount of labor in leas than half the time required by any other machine, with half tho amount of labor. With this siipple contrivance a buck et can be sent to a spring at the distance of three hun dred yards and returned with water in three minutes time. It is simple in its construction, dorable, and not easily to get out of repair, The undersigned having purchased the patent right for the counties of Rowan.

THE first Session of this Institution will commence on the 13th of October, 1851 onder the superintendence of the Rev. B. York and the Rev. Clega gentlemen too well known, in this State, to need de scription or eulogy. 1 his insiuuuon is aesijtueu (u cimjul' and female departments, though the female department will not be fully opened the hrst session all lernnies, however, will be received, who may wish to enter.

The entire expense varies from 80 to 40 per session of five month. Tuition fees to be paid in advance, students will be received at any time during ihe session, though il is very desirable that they be present at the commencement. This Institution is located in a very healthy section of country, far distant from any facilities for extravagance and dissipation, in tbe midst of a moral and intelligent community. T. M.

Committeemen in the School Districts for Rowan county must advertise in three public places in each of the Districts for an election, to be held at the school house in each of the school districts on the second Thursday in October, the 9th, and make a return to the Chairman of the election, and state the names of the men who were elected, and if they have consented to serve as Committeemen for the next year; and where the people have failed to elect their Committeemen, it i9 requested by the Board of Superintendents that the Committeemen of these districts send to the Chairman the names of three men whowill serve for the next year as Committeemen in said districts.
