The beat Jonesboro in their opener 40-0 and that game was taken in stride as a breather But then came Knoxville high and an upset 6-0 triumph for the Johnson Citians Hilltoppers Go Through Six Games Unscored Upon It took one-sided victories in the next two games with Saltville Va and freshmen to convince local followers that Farmer really had something to behold on the gridiron Through six games the Science Hill terrors trampled over opposition without being scored upon A scoreless deadlock with Kingsport marred an otherwise perfect account of themselves Perhaps cocky and a bit overconfident the Hilltoppers went against little Mountain City with their scoreless record still shining A Johnson City fumble near their own goal line followed by a fourth down penalty against the then a Mountain City pass accounted for the only touchdown scored against the Farmermen all season They scored whitewash victories over Appalachia 14-0: Ehzabeth-ton 7-0 Rogersville 45-0 and Erwin 12-0 finishing the season with a record of 219 points scored to seven for the opposition Allen Chandler Called Best All-Time Big Five Lineman Captain Allen Chandler a bulk in the gallant line was lauded as the
