Charles France, of Nelson street, Sunday night. The funeral services were held in the Episcopal church and the interment followed in the Monongahela cemetery. Ody Abbott will leave Monday to join the New Castle team of the 0. P. League, with which organization he has a contract to play the coming season.

E. church where th service was held.

Rev. W. F. Silvens, pastor of the Grace Memorial Presbyterian church of Pittsburg and a pastor of 'he deceased conducted the service, assist- ed by Rev. O.

B. Patterson of the Beailsville M. E. church, Mr. Hughes of the Beallsville Presbyterian church and Rev.

Mr. Allison pastor of M. E. church at Scenery Hill. Interment was made in the Beallsville cemetery.

Among those who attended the funeral from this place were Mr. James De-Walt, Mr. Frank DeWalt, Mr. Albert Allen, Mr. and Mrs.

Wm. DeWalt, Mrs. George Field, Mrs E. L. Yohe, Mr.

and Mrs. Frank Shaner. Mrs. T. Hamilton and Mr.

and Mis. Wm. DeWalt of Homestead. Several beautiful floral offerings were sent from this ci y. M.

Kiehl, a son of the deceased who lives in Pasadena California, was able to reach home in time for the funeral. Accepted Resignation The resignation of Prof. W. D. Wright, as superintendent of the Char-jeroi schools, was accepted by the school board of that place Monday night.

After the acceptance of the resignation the matter of when it should take effect was discussed, and it was finally decided to make it the first of June. The successor to Prof. Wright will be chosen the first meeting night in May. A resolution was unanimously adopted by the school board showing its appreciation of the work of Prof. Wright and wishing him success in his new field of labor in Kansas.

Appealed to Supreme Court An appeal has been taken to the supreme court in the suit of John H. Vandegrift against Julia A. Vande-grift and Julia A. Vandegrift, executrix of the estate of John M. Vandegrift, deceased.

In its adjudication the lower court decided in favor of the defendants. The plaintiff seeks to secure an accounting of a claimel partnership existing with the late John M. Vandegrift. Miss Emma Latta who has been visiting in Union Iowa, for several months returned home yesterday. Divorces Granted In the divorce court this afternoon Judge Taylor granted the following divorces.
