The fall district meeting will be in Brighton. Church Service* BRIGHTON - All church services in Brighton will be on Daylight Saving Time beginning Sunday. Masses will he at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Church. The Rev. Philip Newman is pastor. The Rev. A. L. Schieler will preach on the topic "Doubts Removed" at 10:30 a.m. service in the St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church. Sunday school at 9:30 a.m Builders Class meeting will be Tuesday 8 p.m. (DfiT) in the church. Choir practice Wednesday will be at 8 p.m. (DST). The Rev. Paul Mabry of the St. Paul Methodist Church will preach on the subject "Redemptive Suffering" at the 10:40 a.m. service. Church school meets at 9:30 a.m. MYF, 6:30 p.m. and evening worship 7:45 p.m. The Rev. Kenneth G. Bower will have a book study on II Corinthians at the 10 a.m. service in the Presbyterian Church, Sunday school is at 9 a.m. The Westminster Fellowship rally will be held at Greenville Sunday afternoon. A group will leave here at 1 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Harold Normana of the Assembly of God Church In the American Legion Hall at 9:45 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. Brighton Notes BRIGHTON-The Goodwill Industries truck will be here Monday morning at 8 a.m. and will call at the Protestant churches. Donations of used clothing will be appreciated by this organization. The condition of Harlan Meacham, who is a patient at St. Joseph's Hospital, remains unchanged. He was taken ill suddenly Tuesday evening and moved to the hospital by Warner ambulance. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Long, Mr. and Mrs, Walter Long, Mrs. Edith Lawson and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilton attended funeral services for Eliot C. Long Thursday afternoon in Lahey Funeral Home at Madison. Janet Woods was brought home from St. Joseph's Hospital Thursday afternoon by her mother, Mrs. Ruth Woods and Mrs. Harold Dodge. She is very much improved but will have to stay in bed over the weekend. L. M. Well, Donald and Carole Well, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Wlld- erman and family and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jones and family attended ibe 4-H rally Tuesday evening at Shipman. Word has been received from Pvt. Virgil Jones that he arrived in Japan last Wednesday and would be stationed at Camp Drake, Yokohama. April's Rainfall Totals 3.25-Inc'he8 at Hardin 74 75 76 36777 78 70 80 81 HARDIN—By the time (he rain ceased about 5 p. in. Thursday, the official rain gauge here registered 1.65 inches of rain. This brings April's total up to 3.25 inches which is a little short of normal. Paul Fiedler reported Friday that the rain at his farm near Batchtown measured two inches. He said that the fall was so gentle there was hardly any runoff and them was no erosion even on the steep hillsides in his locality. He thinks this rain .iusl about assures a good crop of wheat this year. The rain was general throughout this section. Pittsfield, which has been so short of water for many months, received 1.9 inches. The newly repaired reservoir there caught a month's supply of water for the city, the first appreciable gain since last December. Another new well was brought in near Pittsfield Tuesday.
