McDowell, of Dallas, Texas, will continue his crusade this coming week at the Assembly of God, 395 N. Barnes. The internationally known evangelist will preach Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., and Monday through Friday at 7 p.m. Evangelist McDowell, who has preached in some of the largest churches throughout America and Europe, will present several illustrated sermons throughout the crusade. He also presents a "mini- concert" on the piano each evening preceeding his gospel message. The public is invited to hear this unique and dynamic gospel preacher. A musical "afterglow" featuring the Harmony Makers, the Sunshine Trio, the Sanctuary Choir, and various vocalists will be presented Sunday from 8 to 9 p.m. at the Assembly of God. The purpose of the afterglow— set at dn hour when most of the community's churches have concluded 'their evening service— is to promote in. terdenominational Christian fellowship^ Participation from all Christians in, the area is . invited. A special feature of the evening wilJ be a "mini- concert" on the piano by G.B. McDowell, of Dallas, Texas. McDowell iwas featured in Robert L, Ripley's column several years ago when he said, "Believe It or Not - G.B. McDowell plays piano before audiences in the world's largest auditoriums, yet never had a lesson." • The public is invited to share'in this fiour of gospel music. There is no admission charge. Church of Christ "Is It Your Goal -To Meet Or Miss?" is the Sunday morning lesson that Scott Harrison, minister, will deliver at the Church of Christ, 25 Norgard Lane. This service begins at 11 a.m. Sunday evening's lesson at 6 will come from Judges 7, The message will be "Every Man In His Place." Everyone is invited to attend these services. Sunday morning at 10, and Wednesday evening at 7:30, there are classes offered for every age group. The Sunday morning teenage class is "The Praying Jpsus," and the adult class, taught by James Hendrix, is studying the book of Romans,. Kenny Siminoe is teaching the book of I Corinthians in the Wednesday evening adult class. The church is offering free correspondence courses and home Bible studies in Spanish or English, and also has Bible film strips in both languages. There is no cost for any of, these services. "Selected Scriptures From The Book Of Philippians" is the Bible study being conducted there on Thursday moi;ning& at 10. Christian Science This Sunday's lesson, "Truth", is the second in a series of six . sermons exploring the nature of Gpd as Life, truth. Love, Spirit, Soul, and Mind at the Christian Science Church. The Golden Text is from Psalms: "Teach me thy way, 0 Lord; I will walk in thy truth." The sermon consists of readings from the Bible and related passages from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy. The Sunday service begins at 11 a.m. at 204 S. Oak Street. ITie Wednesday meeting is at 8 p.m. Since there is no clergy in the Christian Science Church, the reading of the two books during the church service is done by two members of the cqngregatiori, who have been elected Readers. This January marks the beginning of the second year of readership for Marilyn Simpson (First Reader) and Jeff Simpson (Second Reader), who were elected to serve for a three-yjear term. Church of the Nazarene ft Rev, Grady Cantrell,' district superintendent of the Northern California district of the Church of the Nazarerte, Will be the guest spei^er this Sunday morning at the 11 a.m. worship service at Church of the Nazaretie, 1091 S. Dora St. Preceding the morning worship service, Sunday School will begin at 9:45 a.m^ TTiere is a Bible Study for all ages. Sunday evening. Pastor Art Combs will continue in a series of lessons called "Principles To Live By," taken directly from the "Institute, in Basic Youth Conflicts" and designed to guide lives in Biblical prin- 'ciples of successful living. Next week , the ladies of the church will meet Tuesday evening at 7 p.m: in what is called "Ladies Night Out." This is a combination of Bible , study, prayer, and fellowship. Wednesday is the regular midweek. Bible Study and Prayer service at 7 p.m. around the fireside at the parsonage. Everyone is invited to attend the Services of the Church of the Nazarene. Grace Lutheran Family worship services . are scheduled at Grace Lutheran Church for 10:30 Sunday with Sunday School classes for all ages meeting at 9:15. Pastor Del KjorVestad's message will be the second in a series on God's ^11 for our lives. This Sunday he will speak oh the subject "Making Our niness C^oiint". "My Tribute", a modem anthem by Andrae Qrouch, will be sung by the (Thancel Choir. Tenor Mark Standley will be featured on the solo. The choir is conducted by C^arey Worley and ac- cornpanied on the piano by SJiarleen Prior and on the organ by Anne Barnes. Pastor and Mrs. Kjorvestad have invited the Young Adults to the parsonage Sunday night at 6:30 for dinner and a program. Slides of the youth trip to Holden Village will be sho'wn and plans for the retired persons' dinner will be discussed. All "older high, school youth and college age people are invited. Beginning at 7 p;m., the meeting will involve approval of the budget, election of council members and discussion of building plans. All members of the congregation, are tirged to attend. The annual . convention of the Gateway Conference of the American Lutheran Church Women is scheduled Feb. 11 in Novato. All women of Grace Lutheran are invited for this one day event.
