Stouffer pleaded not guilty to the complaints, which charged him with manslaughter and driving an automobile while intoxicated. County authorities said he w'ould be tried during the next term of District court, the jury for which has been called for November 4. bond was set at $20,000, which he failed to make. He has been held in the county jail since the accidents. The complaints charge Stouffer was driving the automobile which struck Davis while he was crossing a street here.

Davis died soon after being taken to a hospital. A little later an automobile crashed into a bridge near Staplehurst and Gaskill was killed. Stouffer also is charged with being the driver of the car and county authorities said Gaskill was com- panion.
