Steiner Art Is Featured Recent paintings of Steiner will be on exhibit beginning Monday at Schertle Galleries, 1624 N. Academy. specialty is sea scapes and mountain scenes. Before coming to Colorado Springs four years ago he lived and studied art in Hawaii for five years. Recently elected president of the Pikes Peak Artists Association, Steiner also is a member of the Windward Artists Guild.

A native of Czechoslavakia, Steiner left his homeland in 1948 to flee Communism. He and his wife, Mimi and his daughter Judy went to Austria where Steiner studied oil painting. While in Austria, he was affiliated with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service in Europe and as a result was transferred to Hawaii. The family lived on Oahu where Steiner studied art with Bennett Bradberry and was associated with Elma Taylor, Peter Hayward and Hiroshi Tagami. He paints the realistic scenes in his home studio at 622 Crown Ridge Drive.
