Bulls suspend rookie Sellers CHICAGO The Chicago Bulls announced Friday they have suspended rookie forward Brad Sellers for four days, including the NBA teams next home date Saturday night against Indiana. It is an internal matter between Brad and the team and there will be no further comment on it, Krause said. Hawks sign backup for Spud ATLANTA Mike Wilson, a 6-foot-4 guard, has signed a 10-day contract with the Atlanta Hawks to replace injured guard Anthony Spud Webb, the NBA club announced Friday. Wilson will be used as the third point guard behind starter Doc Rivers, with whom Wilson played for two seasons while in college at Marquette, and John Battle. Wilson originally was drafted by Cleveland in the third round of the 1982 NBA draft. The Hawks learned Tuesday that Webb will be out for three months. University of Wisconsin Athletic Director Elroy Hirsch has formally told UW officials he will step down in June when he becomes 64. Hirsch, nicknamed Crazy Legs in his collegiate days, said this summer he would retire before turning 65 but gave no specific plans. In a letter to UW-Madison Chancellor Irving Shain this week, Hirsch said he would like to serve out his tenure as a consultant and would like to help in the transition to his successor. A native of Wausau who played for Wisconsin, Michigan and the Los Angeles Rams, Hirsch is a member of the National Football Hall of Fame. He resigned as assistant to the president of the Rams to come to Wisconsin in 1969. That year, the Badgers had a 0-10 record in football and averaged 43,559 spectators per home Same. Murphy promoted to Maine job ORONO, Maine Tim Murphy, an assistant football coach at the University of Maine for the past two seasons, was promoted Friday to heaa coach, a post left vacant by the departure of Eugene Buddy Teevens. Murphys appointment was announced at a news conference by Dale W. Lick, the university president. Murphy, the Black Bears offensive line coach and offensive coordinator, worked with Teevens at Boston University and came to Maine with him two years ago. Teevens, who compiled records of 6-5 and 7-4 at Maine, was named Tuesday as head coach at Dartmouth College, his alma mater. In becoming Maines 31st head football coach, Murphy also succeeds Teevens in another category: he becomes the nations youngest Division I or Division I-AA football coach, a distinction held by Teevens up to now.
