18 THE PLAIN SPEAKER, HAZLETON, At SATURDAY AFTERNOON, MAY 7, 1955 DEATHS MRS. MARY CAVERLY Mrs. Mary McCrighan Caverly of Wilkes-Barre died yesterdahe her home. Born in came to this country at an early age and settled in Freeland. She resided more than 50 years 1 in WilkesBarre.

Surviving are three sons and a daughter, John, Linden, N. Mary at home; Daniel, Jersey City, N. James former Wil-: kes-Barre alderman, now of Alden Station; a brother and sister, Frank McCrighan and Mrs. William Malley, both of Philadelphia. The funeral will be held Monday morning at 9:45, with a mass of requiem in St.

Leo's church. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Hanover Township. JOHN MILLER John Miller, 82, of Tamaqua, died Thursday night in the Schuylkill County Hospital, Schuylkill Haven, where he had been a patient the last two months. Born at Beaver Meadows, a son of the late Anthony and Margaret Schafer Miller, he moved to Tamaqua in 1905, having previously resided in Morea.

He had been employed as a laborer in the Tamaqua mine before retiring in 1932. He is survived by two brothers, David E. Miller, Mahanoy City; Cyrus R. Miller, Tamaqua, and a one sister, Mrs. Martha Stein, Tamaqua.

LEONARD GUERRIERE Leonard Guerriere, one of Freeland's best known residents, died at his home, 725 Main stret, this morning at 3:15 o'clock. He had been ill for four months. Born in Italy he had been a resident of the North Side borough for 47 years where he operated a shoemaker shop. He was a member of St. Anthony's Roman, Catholic church and the Felice Gino Lodge, Sons of Italy, 878.

For many years he was active in the Roosevelt Social Club. Surviving are his wife, Congetta Guerriere and these children, Louis proprietor of Guerriere's paint and hardware store, Freeland; Anthony, laboratory technician at Cornell University, Ithaca, N. Mrs. Philip Dominic, proprietress of Janet's children's shoppe, Freeland; Mrs. Richard Loomis, a teacher on the staff at Cornell University.

Two brothers, Salvadore of Brooklyn and Anthony of the Bronx, N. and a sister in Italy also survive. There are six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9 a. m.

Friends may call from Sunday afternoon until funeral time. JACKSON ANSBACH Jackson Ansbach, 67, of Frackville, died Thursday afternoon in the Schuylkill County Hospital.

He was a patient for five weeks. Born in Hazleton, he was a son of the late George and Elizabeth Reinhart Ansbach, formerly lived at Shenandoah, was emand ployed by the PPL. Co. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Derr; one son, Leonard, Frackville; one grandson. The funeral will be on Monday afternoon from Nice Funeral Home, Frackville, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shenandoah.

STEPHEN SISACK, SR. Stephen Sisack, who resided with his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Helen Sisack of 556 West Maple street, died at the St. Joesph Hospital at 4:05 a. today.

Born in Austria, he spent 65 years in this country and resided at Hazle Brook until 15 years ago. He was formerly a miner at Hazle was a member of St. John's church, this city. His and. wife, Anna, died in 1940.

Surviving are these children: Mrs. Mary Hricak, this city; Michael, Hazle Village; Andrew, Hoboken, N. Stephen, Sta-1 ten Island, N. John Fairport Harbor, Ohio, and Joseph of Nixon, N. J.

There are 26 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Tuesday from his late residence at a time le to be announced. Friends mayy call from Sunday evening until the time of the funeral. ANNA A B. SEYMOUR Anna B.

Seymour, 68, of Market street, Sheppton, died at 6:20 this morning in Hazleton State Hospital following an illness of four months. She had been admitted to the hospital Monday. She was a daughter of the late Daniel and Lydia Hauze Bitler. Her husband, William Seymour, died in 1949. Mrs.

Seymour was a member of St. James, E. R. church, Sheppton, the Daughters of America and Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving is a sister, Mrs.

Phoebe Turnbach, Sheppton. The funeral will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday from the residence of Mr. and Mrs.

Roland Turnbach, Sheppton, with further services at 2:30 in St. James' church, Rev. Franklin Heckman officiating. Burial will be in Ringtown cemetery. Friends may call Monday evening.

MRS. ALMA RUTH SKINNER Mrs. Alma Ruth (nee Andreas) Skinner, wife of Gerald K. Skinner, 319 East Chestnut street, died last night at 9:30 o'clock at the State Hospital. She had been ill for the past five months.

The deceased was born in West Hazleton, the daughter of the late William B. Andreas and Anna Lapp Andreas. She resided her entire life in the Hazleton area. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Business Girls Club of the Y.W.C.A., and the Dr. Esterly Sunday School Class of the Christ Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband and two daughters: Carol and Gail, both at home. Her mother and one sister Mrs. Clarence G. Baker of this city also survive. The funeral will be held Monday, 2 p.

m. from the Grebey Funeral Home with Rev. Allen H. Roth officiating. Interment will be in the Vine Street Cemetery, Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.

Oberholtzer, Joseph W. Walton, Alfred Robinson and E. Frank Hawke. The funeral of Joseph Kubeck, 735 Winters avenue, West Hazleton, who died Wednesday, was held this morning from his late residence. Solemn mass of requiem was celebrated in Transfiguration church by Rev.

Stanislaus Wolf, with Rev. Chester Gajewski as deacon and Rev. Alexander Kulik, subdeacon. Father Gajewski gave the blessing at the grave in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Albert Motel, Walter Samboroski, George Kukel, Charles Chroback, Joseph Halcisak and Leo Melkos- John Hill of 15 Broad street, Beaver Meadows, who died Wednesday, was buried this morning from the Bachman Brothers funeral home.
