SOCIETY 18 BROOKLYN EAGLE, MAY 24, 1953 Miss Caryl U. James Bride of Mr. Kane The wedding of Miss Caryl of Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Rush and Valley Farm, Old Brookville, son of Mr.

and Mrs. William place yesterday at the home of the bride's parents on Brooklyn Heights. The Rev. Alvin E. Magary of the Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church performed the ceremony in the presence of a few close friends.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore her mother's wedding gown of ivory satin trimmed with duchess and rose point lace and mother's lace wedding veil. She carried white orchids with sweet peas and lilies of the valHer three sisters were the bride's attendants. Miss Nadine James, the maid of honor, was in a gold shantung frock land carried red roses, and the Misses Sandra and Beverly James, bridesmaids, wore dresses of blue-green shantung and carried talisman roses. Russell William Kane of Underwood James, daughter James Jr. of 2 Pierrepont Place and Randall Philip Kane, Kane of Lakewood, Onio, took Cleveland, Ohio, was best man for his brother and Richard Miller of Cleveland and Norfleet E.

Blaine of Brooklyn, cousin of the bride, were the ushers. After a wedding trip the couple will make their home on Brooklyn Heights. The bride was graduated from the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry and Scripps College, Claremont, Cal. She is the granddaughter Mrs. C.

Vanderbilt Barton of Brooklyn Heights Underwood and the late John T. and Mrs. Darwin Rush James of Brooklyn and the late Mr. James. Mr.

Robert E. Blum in the interest of the Boston Symphony Orchestra concerts in the coming season. Guests were informed regarding the concerts, which will be held on Fridays, Dec. 4, Jan. 15, Feb.

12, March 1 12 and April 9. In the course of the afternoon a new group was organized to be known as "The Brooklyn Patrons of the Boston Symphony Orchestra." Mrs. Haughton Bell, chairman of the Brooklyn Committee for the Boston Symphony Orchestra, one of the sponsoring groups for the orchestra, announced that the aim of the new patrons will be to sell out the orchestra's engagements in the Opera House of the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Basis for membership in the "patrons" is the procurement of new subscribers for the series. Mrs.

Blum was attired in a black wool cocktail gown made with a pleated skirt and lace bodice. Her hat was offwhite trimmed with a velvet ribbon. Mrs. Bell's dress was of navy blue sheer with taffeta trimming. With this she wore a matching velvet cocktail hat.

The wedding will take place at Our Lady of Peace, Church in Stratford on Miss Welles, an alumna of the Knox School, Cooperstown, N. graduated from Goucher College, Baltimore, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. The prospective bride is an art director at Norcross, Manhattan. Mr.

Delany was graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institue where he was a member of Phalanx and Delta Kappa Epsilon, and received a masters degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. During World War II, he served in the Navy as a Lieutenant (jg) in the Pacific theater. The bridegroom-to-be is a member of the Harvard Club of New York and the New York Athletic Club. Glynn Becomes Fiancee Of J. A. Hildebrand Mr. and Mrs. Harold A.

Langer were hostesses at a tea given at the home of Mrs. Wasch, 295 St. John's Place, on Thursday. The event was for the benefit of the Muscular Dystrophy Associations and to publicize its work. Paul Cohen, Miss Louise Yont and the new director of the association, Eugene Davis, were the speakers.

Disch Marries Charlotte Hyde, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irby Hyde of Silsbee, Texas, became the bride of 1st Lt. Ralph Charles Disch, U.S.A.F. (M.C.), son of Mr.

and Mrs. Charles L. Disch of 28 St. Mark's at the First Methodist Church of Silsbee, Texas. The Rev.

H. E. Floyd of Rosenberg, Texas, ficiated, assisted by the Rev. J. E.

Ferguson of Silsbee. A reception was held at the home, of the bride's parents. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of imported white lace over bridal satin, made with a molded bodice and portrait neckline. Both the neckline and the points of the long fitted sleeves were embroidered with iridescent sequins and seed The full length skirt terminated into a train. A coronet of jewels held her finger tip veil in place.

A white orchid centered formed the bouquet. Miss Yvonne Wilson of Silsbee was maid of honor. Haxel Choate of Silsbee, Miss Helen Ludwig and Mrs. Witliam S. O'Leary, both of Bryan, Texas, and Mrs.

S. Larry Jones of Houston, Texas, were bridesmaids. They were all attired in dressles of sweetheart blue tulle and had bands of matching tulle rosettes. Miss Wilson carried Better Times roses and the bouquets were of pink roses. 1st Lieut.

The bride is a graduate of Southwestern University, Georgetown, Texas: She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi. Dr. Disch was graduated from Columbia College and Long Island College of Medicine and is a member of Phi Chi Medical fraternity. He interned two years at Kings County Hospital and now is with the 3610th Medical Group, Harlingen A.F.B., Texas. S. S. P. Auxiliary Sets Fall Bridge Date Mrs. John J.

Martin, president of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Nursing Sisters of the Sick Poor, 439 Henry has appointed Mrs. Francis A. Young, former president, as general chairman of the Fall fund raising card party on Oct. 3 in the grand ballroom of the Hotel St. George for the benefit of the Sisters.

As a preface to formulating plans for this event, there will be a garden party held on the convent's grounds on June 15. If the weather is inclement, the party will be held indoors. Donnellan officiated. A reception followed at the Cottage of the Hampshire House, Manhattan. The bride was escorted by her brother, Adam Schumann McCormick. She wore a gown of blush ivory Italian silk taffeta, made with a modified off-the-shoulder neckline, embellished with Alencon lace, a fitted bodice and a bouffant skirt. Her fingertip illusion veil of blush ivory was attached to a cap of matching, lace.

Her bouquet was of pink I Duchess roses. Miss Louise Schumann McCormick of Brooklyn was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Elizabeth Virginia Cummiskey of Troy and Mrs. Adam Schumman McCormick of Flower Hill. They were attired in similar gowns of green silk organza. Their headpieces were crowns of green leaves and they carried sprays of Briarcliff deep pink roses.
