This course was pursued and Messrs. T. B. Moseley, A. H.

Moneyham and R. H. Bradley were appointed on the committee. After the sermon at night the committee reported and the following was adepted: "Your committee appointed at a special conference of the church called this morning beg leave to make the following report: "Whereas, our beloved pastor, Rev. Kitchin started for the beautiful lake, five miles distant, called Lock Lilly, where was found a side-wheeler, with steam up ready to take the party over the lake to a point where spring water was gushing from the rock, and there, just as the sun was rising to shed its warm rays, all set down and partook of a. feast in the way of an old-fashioned fish fry, with corn bread and hot coffee. After the Inner man was thoroughly satisfied, cigars were handed around by the genial host, Dr. Tucker, and the signal whistle from the side-wheeler announced to all that tirne Vas up, and "all Landing safely in a few minutes, after gathering many lilies, for which the pond is famous, the party returned to the carriages and were driven back to Roxboro, and to the depot, where good-bye was said to a large number' of citizens who had gathered for that purpose, and thus ended one of the most enjoyable occasions of the summer. The visiting dentists were all profuse in their praise of the people of Roxboro and their open handed hospitality, and voted resolutions to this effect before leaving.
