W. several film makers currently are considering New Mexico for future filming projects, I am hopeful that total production during 1970 will pass the $50 million mark, $10 million more than came to the state during 1969 with the motion pic ture promotion effort here," Governor Cargo said. Governor Cargo stressed total production cannot be construed as the amount of money actually spent in the state. He said his film liaison office has researched the matter and jve have a pretty accurate idea of the actual impact on the economy. Cargo noted there is a trend in California toward lower budget films.

Trade unions recently ifted restrictions on films budgeted under $1 million, he said. We can expect more of the lower budget films for this reason. Im sure we will have many more film companies in New Mexico this year, but it will be much1 harder to. reach the 'high Eaves Ranch south of Santa Fe and other areas around Santa Fe. It is a Harvest Productions feature.
