Low levels of sorbitol or sugar provide some initial sweetness to the saccharin system, while sodium citrate is useful in suppressing the bitter aftertaste of the artificial sweetner, the company says. Investigations conducted, by Pfizer on combinations of saccharin with these Ingredients offer guidelines for formulation studies. Pfizer Adds that since relative sweetness is a subjective phenomenon depending upon individual preference, the food processor should investigate variations of his formula based on these suggestions rather than Utilize them exactly as outlined.
