Seeing, Being Seen Important TOPEKA—The month of November signals the start of a season of early hours of darkness and, other special sight hazards for drivers. The return to "standard" lime and typically lower temperatures increase the likelihood of both the natural and the artificially created vision impairment. Seeing and being seen, are of special importance at this time of year, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. "The combination of temperature variations, varied types of precipitation, vehicle defects and driver error are always a prelude to needless accidents at this time of the year," according to patrol Superintendent Allen Rush. "Everyday, you and I see a driver with a partially obscured windshield or window or who fails to use lights when they are needed." "I hope that every driver will think of November as 'Clear View' month," Rush said. "This would start us into the fall and winter months with a positive attitude towards good seeing and driving habits."
