Ushers were two nephews, Joe Gallegos and Arsenio Gallegos. Keeping the greeting book were Mrs. Josephine Rathman and Mrs. Petritao Borrego. The Borregos have one son, Pat, but raised several nieces, including Apolonio Gallegos, Clara Borrego, Josephine Rathman, Arabella.

Borrego and Lorenzo Sanchez, all in the El Guique home. They also have two granddaughters, Priscilla Naranjo and Rosella Borrego, and two greatgrandchildren, Mark and Lannet Naranjo. Coming from Saguache, for the event was a brother, Santiago Gallegos, and other brothers attending were Louis El Guique, Candido of El Gauche, and Apolonio, George and Juan all of El Guique, two sisters, Mrs. Jean Sanchez and Miss in Juanita Gallegos, both of El Wedding Abiquiu the Abiquiu Catholic Church. Francis Nava read the wedding mass. Gowned in white lace with a sweetheart neckline and chapellength train, the bride was given in marriage by her father. A pearl-trimmed headband held her fingertip veil and she carried an arm bouquet of white roses. Mrs. Juan Martinez of Abiquiu sister of the bride, wore pink floor-length lace with a ruffled tier shirt in her role as matron of honor.

She carried pink roses. Juan Martinez of Abiquiu was best man. Six bridesmaids served Miss Suazo, all of them from Abiquiu: Josie Abeyta, Onofre Abeyta, Tony Suazo, Bebe Suazo, Rosalia Garcia, and Atocha Garcia, the latter four cousins of the bride. Seven-year-old Gilbert Ferran of Abiquiu, the bride's nephew, served as ringbearer for the ceremony, while Gummie Vigil, Alfonso Martinez, Greg Salazar, Robert Garcia, Reggie Maestas, and Raymond Suazo were flowerboys. Juan Atencio and Joe Ferran, Jr.

were ushers. Mrs. Juan Atencio and Mrs. Joe Ferran, sisters of the bride, made up the receiving line when a reception was held at the bride's home in Abiquiu immediately after the ceremony. A four-tier wedding cake was cut by the bride and groom at the wedding breakfast.

Martinez has just returned from service in the National Guard while the bride came home two weeks ago from Loretto Academy in Santa Fe, where she was a junior. The couple will make their home in Medenales. A wedding dance for 100 guests was held at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Abiquiu Hall honoring the bride and groom. Archuleta's orchestra provided the music.

EAVESDROPPING Mr. and Mrs. Dean Gulnac of Sombrillo find themselves in an uproar currently with Gulnac transferred from his Los Alamos job to Phoenix all of a sudden. He left for Phoenix Feburary 3. while Mrs.

Gulnac and daughter remained behind to sell their home in Sombrillo. Mrs. Gulnac reports it's hard to leave the house they have been building themselves through the past four years. Gulnac has been employed at Los Alamos for the past eight years, and the family will be missed in the community. J.

H. Markham of Coyote went to Houston, Texas, last weekend to pick up a larger caterpillar tractor to use in his uranium strip Markham heads operation the Box at Canyon Coyote. Uranium Co. there. Luis Marquez, Antonio Medina, and Frank Varos, all of Dixon, were in Santa Fe on personal business last Thursday.

It's reported five good horses belonging to one owner were shot maliciously in the El Rito area last week. Shooting the wild horses was fair game for awhile, but it seems someone has overstepped the boundary line. Manuel Montoya has returned to his custodian duties at Espanola. High School after a lengthy illness. During his absence, Felo Vialpondo served as substitute.

Antonio Chavarria, 24, son of Gov. and Mrs. Juan Chavarria of Santa Clara, left Monday for Albuquerque 1 for his navy physical. Antonio served in the navy four years until March, 1956, being discharged as a fireman. Charles Leupold, month-old-teles, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Ed Leupold, is expected to be released from Espanola Hospital this week after being confined for a few days with bronchitis. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gutierrez of Santa Clara Pueblo are parents of a son.

Mrs. Gutierrez is of San Ildefonso Pueblo and it is the first child for the couple. Helen Triebelhorn, village water manager, and Village Clerk Agnes Trujillo were in Santa Fe Monday, conferring with the state comptroller's office on village business. Twins, Arnold and Irene, were born recnetly to an El Llano couple, Mr. and Mrs.

Cansido Mascarenas. Look for county school vehicles to get a white paint job soon. County Supt. Seledon Martinez has been getting surplus paint through the state and plans to paint the entire county fleet white and have them lettered, identifying them as county vehicles. MARRIED IN PARK VIEW Justice of the Peace Jose Suazo of Park View performed marriage rites for Betty Jean Bennett and Robert Williams both of Gallina, recently.

Witness was Horace Donove. The storm in the northern part of the county recently apparently didn't bother the county school system. County Supt. Seledon Martinez, says to his knowledge all the schools remained open during the storm. Enterprising sophomores at Espanola High have Iturned a popcorn machine into a money-making deal.

BLACK Pepper GERBER'S STRAINED 3 FOR HONEYMOON IN MEXICO Rosalind Sanchez and Clyde Martinez were married at 10 a. m. February 2 at the Sacred Heart Church in Espanola. Mr. and Mrs.

Jerry Gomez served the couple as matron of honor and best man and accompanied them to Juarez, Mexico, on their honeymoon. The wedding ceremony was followed by a reception held at the Legion Hut in Espanola, and the couple left for El Paso, Texas, and Juarez. Mr. and Mrs. Martinez will make their home in Alcalde.

(Photo by Helen's Studio) Couple Married At Park View Miss Bennie Martinez of Park View and Federico Delgado of Ensenada were married recently in St. Joseph's Church in Park View, Father Austin Ernstes A. reception was held immediately after the ceremony in St. Joseph's Parish Hall.

The couple will make their home in Ensen- ada. Attendants were the bridegroom's sista brother-inlaw, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Atencio, also of Ensenada. A bridal shower was held at the parish hall January 27 hon oring Mrs.

Delgado, Bridal Parties Held Honoring Miss Martinez A series of bridal parties for Bertha Martinez of Espanola got underway Sunday afternoon when the grandmother of the bride-to-be, Mrs. Teofila Martinez, gave a miscellaneous shower at her Alcalde home. Miss Martinez, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Concepcion Martinez will become the bride of Orlando Maestas at ten-thirty a.m.

March 2 at Sacred Heart Church in Espanola. Maestas is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vianes Maestas of Espanola. A reception will be held immediately.

McNEELEY TO SPEAK Robert McNeeley, guidance director for Espanola High School will be speaker at the regular meeting of the McCurdy PTA Monday at 7:30 p. m.

in the McCurdy Chapel. McNeeley will explain how the guidance program functions at Espanola High School. Bride-to-be Honored At Party Loyola Gallegos was honored at a miscellaneous bridal shower Sunday at the home of Mrs. Americo Romero 'in Espanola with approximately 16 guests attending. Miss Gallegos, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. J. Raymond Gallegos of San Juan, will become the bride of John Christopher Gallegos the morning of February 23 at the San Juan Catholic church. Mr. and Mrs.

Juan Gallegos of Espanola are parents of the prospective bridegroom. Pink daisies and a miniature bride and groom made the centerpiece for the buffet table laid with a white cloth. Chicken puffs, rolled cheese sandwiches, rum cookies, date bars, a gelatin salad, punch and coffee were served. Gathered to watch the brideto-be open her gifts were the bride and bridegroom's mothers, Mrs. Archie McDowell, Mrs.

Barbara Gallup, Mrs. Avelino Sanchez, Mrs. Phil Maestas Yolande Gallegos, Isabel Romero, Josie Montoya, Alice Valdez, Mrs. Modesto Gallegos, Mrs. Pete Romero, Mrs.

Albert Salazar, Mrs. J. M. Garcia, Veronica Garcia, and Sally Gonzales. Salvador Garcia Funeral Held Funeral rites were held Mon-, day morning in Medanales for Manuel Salvador Garcia, age five, of Abiquiu who died at his home Sunday.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ricardo Garcia of Abiquiu. Services were held at the San Antonio Church and burial was in the Catholic cemetery there. The boy is survived by his parents; three brothers, Leroy, Crescencio, and Ricardo; a sister, Mabel; grandmothers, Avelino Garcia and Beneranda Valdez.
