JTIIE BIITCHELL TRIBUNE, MITCHELL, INDIANA, JULY 16, 1S39 Pes Two MITCHELL NEW Wednesday after a two-weeks' visit with her sister, Mrs. Carl Bruse at Camdenton, Missouri. She was accompanied there and back home by her nephew, James Bruse. Mrs. Bruse and two children of Washington, D.C.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hansen and three daughters of Aurora, Illinois, are spending two weeks here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lessie Elmore.

Week end guests were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Elmore and children of Kokomo. Mr. and Mrs.

William Hubbard and family of Bedford spent Sunday with the group. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hardman, John and Chris spent the week end in Indianapolis where John underwent dental NOTICE TO HEIRS, CREDITORS, LEGATEES, ETC. In the matter of the- estate of Ethel M.

Steele, Atty for Administrator 7-16-2t Orleans Names, Garris Ball As Now Principal Garris Ball, a 1943 graduate of Mitchell High School, has been employed by the Board of Education of the Orleans Consolidated Schools as principal of the elementary building for the coming year.

Upon completion of his high school training, Mr. Ball enlisted in the Marine Corps, where he served for three years. After being honorably discharged from the Marines he enrolled at Georgetown College where he received his AJB. degree in 1949. He received his MA degree from the University of Kentucky in 1954.

Mr. Ball comes to Orleans from Momence, in northeastern Illinois, where he has been teaching and coaching for the past two years. His background includes ten years of teaching, both at the elementary and the high school level. Mrs. Ball is the former Miss Joyce Turner of Bedford.

They have three children, Gary, age 12; Debora, age and Dicki, age 5. Mr. Ball and his family plan to move to Orleans just as soon as a suitable home can be located. Marion Schermer-horn visited last Friday and Saturday with her brother, Thomas Burns and family at Monticello, Illinois, and with her aunt, Mrs. Floyd Landrus and Mr. Landrus at Chats worth, Illinois. Mr. and Mrs.

Ora Shaw have had as guests recently, Mr. and Mrs. William C. Shaw and Mr. and Mrs.

Leland Shaw of Shoals, and Mrs. Laura Chastain of Bradenton, Florida. Miss Margaret Berry and Mrs. Osa Patrick have been visiting at Palatine, Illinois, with Mrs. Patrick's daughter, Mrs.

Lawrence Slaughter and family. Mrs. Patrick returned homee Thursday night but Miss Berry remained for a few days visit. Hastle Blunk of Williamsburg, is visiting here with his father, Her-schel Blunk and Mrs. Blunk.

Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Hopper of Muncie were here from Sunday to Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Claude Reynolds.

Mr.and Mrs. Bert Walton were at Louisville Sunday for a visit with her sister, Mrs. Cal Harding and Mr. Harding. Other guests in the Harding home were Mr.

and Mrs. Curt Black and son of Lawrence-burg, Kentucky, and the Har dings' son, Cal. who was recently released from the armed services, and his wife. Miss Jane Poison spent the week end at Plymouth with her college roommate, Miss Sallie Alcock. Miss Alcock was "Miss Plymouth" in the Miss Indiana contest at Michigan City on Saturday night.

Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Watterson and family attended the Allen reunion Sunday at the home of Mrs. Amel D. Williams at Williams.

Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Guthrie and daughter, Hazel. Mr. and Mrs.

Carl Nelson and daughter, Ruth were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Guthrie of Leesville last Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Guthrie are the parents of Stanley Guthrie, who met with a serious accident recently: Mrs.

Henry Arp and sons, Pete and Mike, Mr. and Mrs. Pavilic, all Marshal town, Iowa, Henry Frederick and sons, Don and Ed- of Washington, were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. C.

and Mrs. Roscoe Foutch, of Leipsic, is among students cited for scholastic attainment at Tri-State College, Angola, Indiana, according to an announcement by Merrill Murray, Dean of Students. Foutch holds a scholastic record of all A's for the spring quarter at Tri-State College. He was recently elected to the post of business manager of Tau Sigma Eta, scholastic honorary society for engineering students. He is a student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Founded in 1884, Tri-State College will observe its 75th anniversary during 1959. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Williams and children of Crawfordsville visited his parents. Mr.

James Watterson were called to Hawesville, Kentucky, Saturday, because of the death of Mrs. Mos-er's and Mrs. Watterson's brother, Robert Curry of that city. Mr. Curry who was 73, had been ill with diabetes and a heart condition for a number of years.

Grissom of Fourth and Frank Streets, Mitchell is scheduled to finish weeks of individual combat training July 14 at the Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, California. The course includes the latest infantry tactics, first aid, demolitions, field fortifications and advanced schooling on weapons. and Mrs. Allen Fox, Route 3, Mitchell, recently completed eight weeks of military police training at the Provost Marshal General's Fort Gordon, Ga. He received instruction in' self defense, traffic control and the basic procedures of civil and military Fox entered the Army last February and completed basic training at Fort Knox. Kentucky. Army Pic Merle Kern, whose wife, Laura, and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hovie J. Kern live on Route 1, Williams, recently qualified as expert in firing the carbine while assigned to the 396th Transportation Company in Augsburg, Germany. Kern, a truck driver in the company, entered the Army in June, 1957 and arrived in Europe the following February." Scholarship Sharon R. Bridges, route 1, Mitchell, is among more than 70 additional Indiana University freshmen-to-be who have been named recipients of scholarships for the 1959-60 school year.
