for himself Cotton and other crops should be auxiliary and supplementary thereto It is in this way we can best learn to diversify the products of the farm Stock and grass will constitute the ruling crop and everything else produced will be that much more added to the bank ac count of the farmer This will enable us to cultivate less land in hoed crops and by the use of fertilizers and extra care in cultivating produce much from one acre we are in tbe habit of securing from several The man who gets his farm well sodded to grass and stocked with tbe necessary animals to consume that crop and who Is out of debt is and will con tinue to be independent so long as bo man ages his business intelligently economically and carefully Noinheritance of worldly goods can be more desirable than a neat places Sir George Elvey playing a selection from Handel and Gounod during the interval tbe minor liybts of tbe royal party came in and Lord Mount Eclzcumbe showed tbe bridegroom where and bow he was to stand Prince Leopold being best man The Lord Chamberlain then went off to announce that all was ready and at once the Queen entered with tbe bride followed by her six bridesmaids with the Duchess of Wellington and tbe usual ladies in attendance The Queen wore black usual relieved with white anda small coronet of diamonds 'RH bride (who looked very handsome and stately) was iff course in white and so were her attendants whose wreaths were of yellow the Hanoverian color amanifestation which will give considerable offence at Berlin Her Majesty's action in herself giving away the bride' is re garded as a practical protest against tbe disapproval of tbe bride's family Proba bly since the union of tbe Duke of Glou cester and Lady Waldegrave no royal marriage in this country has caused so much acrimonious discussion After tbe Queen had received the guests in the Red Drawing which took a very snon tne royal party lunched in the White Drawing room and the others had a stand up refection in the Waterloo Chamber As soon as the Princess and her husband had driven off (which they did amidst a shower of rice John Brown hurling an old slipper afier the carriage with a vigor which would have caused the Baron long to remember bis wedding uay had it come in contact with bis head) everybody went away and before half past four the castle was clear and the Queen had gone out for a drive The private chapel in which the cere mony took place is witbin that part of the castle which is never shown to the public It was formerly a music room and was converted to its present uses under the auspices of Prince Albert It adj line the Waterloo Chamber and is usually entered from George grand corridor which with its contents is one of the chief features of thecastle Service is cele brated here daily when the Queen is at Windsor by the Dean before her Majesty usually and the household always The gallery faces the pulpit and has an ante room lined with portraits This is the first marriage that has ever taken place here The chapel was beautifully decorated with flowers from rogmore but little else was attempted beyond re moving the black hangings replaced after the death of Princess Alice and clearing out the servant's benches and rubbing up aud brightening everything The Baron von Pa wel Rammingen has had a romantic history He was for some time a student or the college at Coburg which he quitted early In life for a com mission in the Hanoverian army On the outbreak qf the rupture between Aus ria and Prussia he took part in tbe battle ot Langensalza and was taken prisoner with the King and accompanied him in his re treat to Vienna His strong attachment to the fallen dynasty led to bis endeavor ing to raise a Guelphic legion in rance for the recovery of the lost throne or this he was impeached for high treason by the Prussian authorities was tried by default in his absence and found guilty This sentence has never been revoked and the Baron cannot now enter any portion ot the German dominions without being sub ject to arrest The family have long been settled at Coburg and his father is the Minister of the Duke 8s xo Coburg Gotha and manages all the ducal property Advice as to Kissing No Ethel no we don't suppose cal is any worse than the other kind The worst thing about it seems to be that it is more readily and certainly found but and people
