Frank J. Powers were honored at the home of their son, Raymond V. Powers, 19344 Welby Way, Reseda, for their 50th wedding anniversary. Open house from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday marked the Van Nuys couple's 50 years of marriage and 13 years of residence In the Valley.

Married in Davenport, Iowa. March 27, 1909, Mr. and Mrs. Powers moved to the Valley in 1946 from Aurora, 111., where Powers worked as 'a construction contractor 43 years. Arrangements for the open house were made by another son, Maurice Powers, 14929 Vanowen Van Nuys.

Maurice H. Stans, director of the Bureau of the Budget and one of the nations top experts on Monetary matters, will address a special luncheon sponsored by Republican Associates of Los Angeles County at noon Friday in the Biltmore Bowl. Stans visit was announced today by Homer M. Preston, chairman of the executive committee of Republican Associates. In making the announcement, Preston stated, "We are extremely proud to host this outstanding fiscal authority in his only Los Angeles appearance of the year.

As director of the bureau of the budget, Stans, of course, makes very few public appearances. Preston also indicated that Stans will deliver a non-partisan talk dealing with high-level budgetary problems. now facing the administration and Congress. Stans took office as director of the bureau March 18, 1958. Prior to his appointment to this post by President Eisenhower he had been deputy director for six months.

He holds tije degree of certified public accountant from eight states. 'He received the American Accountants Association annual award in 1952 and the American Institute of Certified Public Accpuntants annual award in 1954. Stans is also a past president of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Tickets for the luncheon will be sold at the Biltmore Bowl entrance on the day of the meeting. The public is invited.

Bob Zwirn, baritone, worked in a photo lab, and Ron Rolla, bass, sold records at Music City in Hollywood.
