6 s. F. VALLEY. TIMES, March 4, 1970 Not The Least Superstitious 1 thought I should warn you that Friday the 13th is coming. I doesnt bother me because Im not superstitious.

Honestly, -I cannot understand how some people can. believe those old wives tales! The 13th was also. on a Friday in February and thinking back on it, that was the day I sprained my ankle. Wait a minute. That was READY FOR SALE Members of the UCLA Art' Council-display some of the items to be sold at.

the sixth annual Thieves Market. From left arei Mmes. Harold O. Hawes of Encino, Georges Fischer of Sherman Oaks and Sanford Spielman of Ertcino. The May 22-23 sale will be held in Century Square Garage, Century City.

Persons vith items to donate call 477-0649. also the day before Valentines Day. And all those room mothers had the flu and couldnt come to help with the party at school, so I got to be room mother for two rooms instead of one. Generally speaking, that wasnt 'bad luck. me, it was.

But for the ones who got to stay home it was silver-lining time. NOW THAT I think of it, that was thd day my husband couldn't get the car started because the gasoline tank was empty. He drove our second car halfway to' the station before it ran out of gas. Then he walked to the station to get gas in order to drive to the station and get gas. But it must have been pure coincidence my son forgetting to fill the tank of the second car the same day I forgot to fill the tank the first car.

Pure coincidence; wasnt what my called it. He didnt exactly, call, it bad luck either.1 Funny, the', way you start remembering, isnt it? Well, -not really so funny. What Im remembering, is that on last Friday the 13th a friend called, and said her little girl fell in dancing class and two permanent teeth. ON FRIDAY; March 13th, I wont have a worry in the world, For One thing not that Im superstitious or anything I plan to spend the day in bed. That way I can hardly walk under any silly ladders, can And I cant step on a crack and break my mothers back either.

If I planned on eating, I might spill a little salt; Im not at all hungry. And, the way I feel, I doubt Ill be looking in any mirrors that day, so I cant possibly break one. Thais fhe way to handle things, even if you dont believe in them. Just avoid them. If anybody and asks why Im staying in bed, Ill just explain that Im not' so old-fashioned as to believe in bad luck.

Ill just laugh and laugh if they suggest Im superstitious. AFTER ALL, Ill say, I have a perfectly good, reason for being here. An excellent reason, as a matter of fact'. And ill think of a reason, too. Right after I take this blanket off the bed.

Yes, the one I spilled the coffee And I won't even mention that it happened right after my black Licorice, walked in front of me.
