He said that one night Monty slipped on the stairs of the Times Square subway station. It was during a heavy rainstorm and impossible to get a taxi. Halfway down he bumped into a fat lady who toppled against him and landed in his lap at the bottom of the stairs.

Woolley tapped her on the shoulder and said, Madam, Im sorry, but this is as far as 1 go. I see where some guy just invented a new miricle drug that is so powerful, you have to be in perfect health to use it. I like STU GILLIUMs story about the honest real estaie salesman who told his clients, Of course this house has one or two drawbacks which I feel I should mention. It is bounded on the north by a glue factory, the south by a tannery, on the east by a brewery and on the west by the city dump. My gosh, said the prospective tenant, What a terrible location.

Right, said the honest agent, But there are advantages. The rent is cheap and you can always tell which way the wind is blowing. YUKAPUK and Good Luck. Ed Begley, winner of an Academy Award and a Tony Award as well as a recipient of praises from critics and audiences coast to coast, has been acting for 45 years. Yet, he still gets the jitters before stepping onto a stage. Said Begley: I go through a terrible time. Movies, television, the stage, it makes no difference. Im all right once 1 get on the stage or in front of the lights.

Ive felt comfortable on a stage all of my acting life. But to get started its nerve-racking. The veteran performer has tried to rationalize his stage fright during his career, but it just wont go away. I was plagued by a terrible sense of inferiority when I was a boy, which might have something to do with it. Maybe its just ego wanting to be better than I am.

Then again its because the challenge comes from what. I think people expect of me. Every time I go to bat, I put my career on the line. Whatever it is, I still get a case of the butterflies. Begley was talking during a break in rehearsals for Neither Are We Enemies, the original drama by Henry Denker which will be the Easter season Hallmark Hall of Fame special on the NBC Television Network Friday, Ch.

5 Donates Facilities For Education KTLA, Channel 5 (Golden West Broadcasters) in Los Angeles, is donating staff and production facilities to tne California Teachers Association for production of a series of public service spots concerned with education. Produced by KTLAs Marni McCormack, the series tackles such areas as drop-outs, parental interest in education, sex education, and the effects of smog on school children. The spots are being written and directed by George King, Radio-TV Producer for CTA in Southern California. KTLA Vice President and General Manager, Doug Finley, said the teachers organization would be given every possible assistance, including use of the new Jet Telecopter. He pointed out that the donation of services to CTA represented KTLAs strong commitment to provide citizens of the Los Angeles area with public service spots and programs chiefly concerned with local issues and organizations.
