Mayor Fletcher Bow-, ron said today in an effort to correct an impression the opposite will be true.

If the bond issues are not carried, the needs are so great that most of these necessary improvements will then have to be financed out of current income during the next fiscal ear and well have to impose additional taxes to do so, the mayor said. "If the bonds are voted it will mean spreading the cost over a long period of years, so that taxpayers 20, een 40, jears hence will bear their portion of the cost of facilities that will be for the general public benefit. Bowron said the additional tax rate for servicing the bonds paying for interest and sinking fund requirements would be so small it w'ould actually amount to only a penny a day for the average householder. The plan was Paul Angeles builder, and has been presented to leaders of all veterans organizations for report back to the mayors committee.

Mooreheads plan calls for the initial construction of possibly 70 eight-flat buildings in various sections of the city. Each apartment unit would consist of a living room, kitchen and dinette, two bedrooms, bath, refrigerator and stove. $6000 Each Veterans would pay approximately $6000 for the apartment at the rate of $42.50 a month. Each project would be owned by an individual corporation organized to hold title and manager the property. Equities could be sold at any time.

E. K. Sheble, city housing co-ordinator, said the plan, which has been approved for GI loans by the Veterans Administration, is based on mass co-operation from private enterprise, with 70 contractors of all types from supply companies to painters, being asked to pledge their efforts to build the initial 70 projects quickly, possibly within 60 days after start of construction. Quick Housing 'With this plan of procedure there is little doubt from 2500 to 5000 veterans could be quickly housed, thereby making thousands of rental accommodations available to our non-service citizens, said Moorehead. The builder said savings could be effected in division of land costs and 'through a regulated nominal profit for contractors and builders.
