made clothes. They said after he landed his nine-foot American-made rowboat on Long Key he walked to a Marina and inquired, "what country is this?" The immigration service ordered him held in the Dade County Jail at Miami until his fingerprints and story could be checked. The fingerprints finally revealed -the "refugee" actually was Ivanov, who was committed to the insane division of New York's Bellevue Hospital on Nov. 5 and transferred Nov. 12 to the Central Islip hospital for the insane of Long Island, the FBI said.

Ivanov escaped the hospital Nov. 15 and 10 days later officers discovered the five bodies in the Gregov home at Mineola. Police said all five victim? had been sta-bbed and 20 or more times each. Mrs. Gregov and her three boys had their hands bound behind their backs with Venetian blind cord.

The body of the husband was found in the room; his wife in one bedroom; one child in another bedroom, and the two other boys in the basement. Police said the murder weapon was a 21-inch French bayonet which Gregov had brought home as souvenior. It was found several days after the crime, hidden near the ceiling of the basement in the Gregov home. Heavy Snow Slows Traffic Albany (AP) Heavy snow burdened sections of the Northeast yesterday, shutting schools and slowing travel in some areas. Up to two feet of snow carpeted the land near Lake Erie and Ontario in New York State.

Many traffic accidents occurred. New York State Police reported roads were open but in poor condition. Plows were trying to keep up- with the snow in the Syracuse region. Interstate 81 was blocked for a while by jacknifed trucks, but was cleared later. Brisk westerly winds carried snow into Chautauqua, Cattara- gus and southern Erie counties, But Buffalo and New York City escaped the storm.

Portions of the Adirondack mountains east and southeast of Lake Ontario had more than a foot of snow. Snow that ranged from light to heavy made driving extra hazardous and brought out cinder-strewing crews in western Pennsylvania. Two separate skidding accidents killed three women. R. L. Clark, employe-commu- nity relations manager, last night said the company would review the request with legal counsel before answering the proposal. Although meetings between, union and management are not scheduled today or tomorrow, he said the matter would be looked into as soon as possible. Three-and-one-half hours of bargaining sessions were held yesterday.

They will resume Monday at 10 a.m. George Evertsen, local president, last night said the company rejected all points made in a settlement proposal by the union Thursday.
