Grace D. Ashlock. wife of Fred Ashlock. McCadden, and Floyd Klmbro all of this city, are on the Democrat ticket for county treasurer.

Fred Ballsrd of RoodTiouse and Ward Burton of Wrights are opponents for the office of sheriff and Mrs. Thelma Chapman Wilkinson of Rood- se and William Jennings Ritchey of White Hall are opponents for the office of county superintendent of schools. Judge Jack Alfeld, Carrollton, who is a candidate for re-election to the office of county judge, is unopposed both on his own ticket and also on the Republican ticket. Will Appeal To Sitpr Court Claim School Referendum in Greene Was Unconstitutional PAGE THREE CARROLLTON A complaint for an injunction nnd other re- liff has horn filed by three tax- pnyers neainst the Board of Education nnd the Carrollton Community t'nit School District 1, in Greene County. The complaints seeks to have the Court enjoin the board from issuing bonds in the amount of $650.000 -MI the grounds that the ballot was unconsitutional. The taxpayers were represented in Circuit Court Friday motninR by their attorney G. R.

Schwarz of Jerseyvllle and Judge Jack Alfeld of this eity represented the local Board of Education and the Carrollton Community Unit School District 1. Judge Alfeld filrd a motion to dismiss the complaint and Judge Clem Smith allowed the motion and entered an order dismissing the suit. The case will be appealed to the Supreme Court. The case is a test suit to settle the question as to xvhether the ballot was correctly drawn in the election recently held whereby the voters of the unit voted lor a bond issue to be used in building a new hifih school in Carruhton, an addition to the Eldred Grade School and a new school unit in the Woody area. Services at Tower View service In observance of the Easter season will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m.
