Benedict, 73, of Batlenkill Road, Arlington, retired principal of Sunderland Elementary School and teacher 35 years, will be Wednesday al 9:30 a.m. from her residence and at 10 from SI. Margaret Mary's Church, Arlington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Mrs. Benedict, the former Bernice Gleason, died al Putnam Memorial Hospital, Benninglon.

Death was attributed to natural causes. Born in Westford. she was Ihe daughter of the late Henry and Nellie Poilcr Gteason. She was educated in Bristol, Vt. She and Mr.

A former machine operator, he had been associated with Albany Felt Company for 15 years, having retired in 1964.

he died Monday of what a Roosevelt Hospital spokesman termed a massive stroke. Renown for his theater and lighting ideas, his lectures and his books, Mielziner designed the'sets for such Broadway hils as "Winterset," "South Pacific," "Guys and Dolls," "Death of a Salesman," "A'Most Happy Fella," "Gypsy" and His Htlr design was for a David Merrlck musical, "The Baker's Wife," due to begin rehearsals in 10 days. Mielziner's designs won five "Tony" awards, five Donaldson awards and an Academy award, the last for his color art direction of the movie "Picnic." In 1964, lie designed the While House theater. He was co-designer Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theater and the Mark Taper Forum Theater in Los Angeles. In.the 1966 New York World's Fair, he designed the setting for the Vatican Pavilion's showing of Michelangelo's "Picta." William B.

William H. Connors Sr. of Walervliet. Mrs. Zeiser died at Ross Loos Hospital, in Los Angeles.
