all the 2500 members to a system that uses 130 select jurors Jurors nominated only within their craft writers nominated writers for example with the exception that all could nominate in best picture category The same system will apply on a larger scale to the final vote All academy members will be able to vote within their craft plus have a say in the winner of the best picture race But the new nomination method resulted in some acclaimed films failing to win expected mentions in certain categories For example of the five films nominated for best picture Black Robe The Company of Strangers Une Histoire inventee (An Imaginary Tale) Perfectly Normal and the soon-to-be -released Chaindance only two had their directors nominated Those were Black Bruce Beresford of Australia and Une Histoire
