After going over the situation thoroughly the organization of the North Carolina Intercollegiate Basketball Association was formed, and the following offl-8 cers were chosen for the prest year: President, Hoffmann, University of North Carolina; secretary and treasurer, C. G.

Guilford. A decision was reached that each college in the association would play each other college two gimea during the coming season. One game, of the two Is to be played on the tome floor of the. colleges taking part In the games. The dp of the State is to be won by the team having the highest percentage at the close of the season.

The season 's to begin January 1, 1913, and will cose March 1.. If there may be a tie for the championship, the two teams tied will play a series of games In the city auditorium in Raleigh to decide the tie. The Raleigh Chamber of Commerce has generously offered the association the use' of the auditorium for the games In case there be a t.e All eligibility rules reflating the class of players that may tak3 part in the games was discussed and prac-' tieally agreed upon. Triuly was th most exacting as to the men who fake part in games" because of her mem bership In the Sou them In -tercoilegiate- Athletic Association, Which Is an organization of South colleges vwhose aim, is to preserve the purity of the athletics of thu colleges Who hold membership in the organization. The rules are verv- strict as to who shall 'and who shail 'nct take part In the college garner if they have played, professional basebath or other sports during their Summer Vacation, and no player allowed to take part In any game who has been in college; more than four years.

It was due to her membership in this organization that Trinity was so exacting in the. standard that Is to Jbe set? for the' basketball association. While the other colleges had to come up to the proposals mads by Trinity under these circumstances, it is a known fact here that Tr'mty i-t seriously constdering withdrawing from the Southern association. It hns in terfered much with baseball here during the past two or three seasons, and the student body is beginning to tire of their membership in the Trinity's action as to whether or hot she will come out cf the association will be determined largely by the stability the newly organized North Carolina Intercollegiate Baseball Association.
