School had taken up and Flo was industriously bending over a book trying not to notice the curious glances cast in her direction. The teacher came back and leaned over her desk. "Aren't you feeling well, Flo?" she asked. "You look flushed and a trifle feverish." Flo blushed hotly as Miss Potts put her cool hand on her forehead. "I hate to send you home, Flo, but I'm afraid you're going to be sick, and if you have a fever you will give it to the other boys and girls." Blushing redder than the rouge, Flo slowly gathered her books together and started home.

The Quebec liquor law has proven a financial and moral success, James Nlcol, provincial treasurer, announced yesterday. Profits from the law's operation In the year ending in June were $4,000,000, he said. The year's provincial surplus is $5,033,419. The Quebec law provides that liquor of varying strength he sold solely by Government stores in municipalities that haven't voted dry. Drinking on Government premises is prohibited, but cafes are permitted to sell light wines and beer purchased from the Government.

North Seventeenth street, will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. The Rev. Dr. Rollin Alger Sawyer, pastor of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, will officiate.

Burial will be in the Harrisburg Cemetery. Mr. Crowell suffered failing health since receiving a broken leg last January and had been confined to his home. He was the Rotary president during 1920 and was also a member of the Harrisburg Chamber of Com-merce'and of the United Commercial Travels' Association. He has lived here for thirteen years as the representative of the Quaker Oats Company.

Saturday, 9 P. M. 1312 Derry Street OJUVIilt McFADDEN MARIETTA, Nov. 16. Oliver Mc-Fadden Is the last of the Civil War livine in this place who participated in the Battle of Gettysburg, In the three days' conflict.

He is enjoying good health and will soon be 78 years old. He lived the greater part of his life in Marietta. He was attached to the Twenty-third Pennsylvania Regiment, and when this regiment was reviewed in 1861 he shook hands with President Lincoln. A regiment from Rhode 1st land was inspected at the same time. Mr.

McFadden says the soldiers were very much moved by the smile which the first martyred President gave them, and he will never forget it as long as he lives. Mr. McFadden among the many engagements will also remember the Gettysburg fight. He was twice wounded, the first time at the Battle of Cold Harbor, where he lay all night among the wounded without receiving attention from doctors. He is a member of Lieut.

William H. Child Post, 228, Grand Army, and takes an active part in the organization. He was born In Washington borough. Futile Trip for Honey WJXLIAMSPORT, Nov. 16.

While hunting in the woods near Oriole, Walter E. Keeler and John Aumiller, farmers, found what they thought was a bee tree. They returned to their homes for buckets and axes to cut dowwn the tree and secure the honey. They persuaded two neighbors, 8. Welshans and Hayes Yorke, to accompany them to tap the tree.

The men made a few blows with their axes at the tree when out came a swarm of insects, but not honey bees. They were yellow Jackets, and hundreds of them, It didn't take the men long to beat a hasty retreat. Now they have decided to be sure a bee tree Is what It looks to be before tackling another one. Successful Hunters WILLIAMSPORT, Nov. 16.

Howard E3. Krouse, of this city, shot the first bear killed in Lycoming County this season, a ninety-pound cub, while hunting along Pine Creek. Alfred Varner, hunting in the big wooded hills of Cambria County, Is -reported as having shot a big black bear. In Northumberland County to date about 2500 rabbits have been reported as shot. Old hunters report turkeys not as plentiful as in the hunting season of 1921.
