Communications or Acme TV It sounds to me like Henry Jacome got used as until the ink dried on the FCC letter of approval and then got shown the door Polan gets the gold mine Jacome gets the shaft how it looks to me at this stage but let the courts decide Continuing on the subject of KPOL its advertising and public relations agency is hustling its little fanny off getting out the good news about Channel -future programming delivered cassettes of Healthcliff the Cat cartoons which they expect to be a big draw with the kids and now Elvira the Mistress of the Dark which is expected to be an even bigger draw with the old men In case you seen her on LA TV or on Halloween MTV or doing a guest-shot on the Carson Show Elvira has the cleavage that won the West Only in Los Angeles television could such a phenomenon as Elvira flower and flourish She has become something of a cult figure by her outrageously skimpy attire her heavy make-up and campy skits not very talented but Elvira does revive the hallowed tradition of the ghoulish horror-show hostess This gives you the idea of what to expect from Elvira and to a lesser extent from Channel 40 Which makes it even more ironic that KPOL shares its transmitter tower in the Tucson Mountains with KDTU Channel 18 the Catholic Diocesan station scheduled to go on the air Dec 31 KDTU's side-mount transmitter dish is already in place on the side of the tower while top-mount dish was supposed to have been installed last Saturday The grand opening celebration of Channel 18 complete with muchos local and church dignitaries is set for Nov 30 and be
