Making an improvised suit of armor out of thick pine boards, Harvey Campeau, 19, braved the bullets of prison guards in a dash for liberty from Virginia penitentiary here. Bullets plowed into the boards but did not injure Campeau. He shed his wooden suit after leaking the prison walls but a policeman captured him before he had gone more than a few yards. The boards found outside were dotted with bullets, none of which had penetrated.

MOSCOW, Sept. 9. The wheel of fate picked up a Minnesota miner and member of the I. W. whirled him through a series of dramatic adventures and has now flung him into the job of -chief censor in the Moscow foreign office.
