14A TUESDAY, JUNE 25, 2019 COURIER JOURNAL E1 Obituaries LOUISVILLE Benjamin Brackney Conver, 35, of Louisville, KY, passed away peacefully at home on June 23, 2019. He was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church; and had his Shodan first degree black belt in Kenpo karate. He loved performing and writing music. He had a big heart, and felt re- warded in helping others. He was preceded in death by his brother Michael, grandparents Bob and Jo Brackney, Charles and Marion Conver, and Roy and Jean Van Treuren.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his parents, Chris (Niki) Conver and Patti Brackney (Ron) Van Treuren; his siblings, James, Bryson, Erik, Kari, Braden, and Aaron; grand- mother Edie; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and more friends than can be counted. Family and friends may gather from 1 pm to 3 pm on Thursday, June 27th, at Arch L. Heady Westport Village, 7410 Westport Road. A service to celebrate life will be held at 3 pm at the funeral home. Geary, 73, beloved husband, father, and grandfather went peacefully with the Lord on Sunday, June 23, 2019. Dennis was an avid gardener, fisherman, hunter and card player who could build anything his mind could envision. His true passion was family and he loved nothing more than spending time with those he loved. He was a proud member of the Main Street UMC and the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife of 50 years Joyce (Poole) Geary; his sons, Steven (wife Anne) and Brian Geary (husband J.R.

Ramirez); brothers Lawrence and Jerry Geary; sisters Shirley Glaze and Donna Nalley; his granddaughters Emily and Lauren. Visitation will be from 1-8 PM Thursday and after 9 am Friday at the Market Street Chapel of Naville Seabrook Funeral Homes in New Albany, Indiana. His funeral service will be held at 10 AM Friday in the Market Street Chapel. Burial will be in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Dennis Geary LOUISVILLE 49, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019. She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Brumleve. She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, John Burris; children, Wyatt and Olivia Burris; mother, Joyce Brumleve; brothers, Ted (Tracy), Rick (Ronelle), and Bill Brumleve (Ann); and sisters, Kim Wild- ing (David) and Anne Staley (Jeff). Her funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thurs- day, June 27, 2019 at St.

Kathleen (Brumleve) Burris LOUISVILLE Chris Colby, 51, passed away Friday, June 21, 2019, surrounded in love from his adoring wife, mother, sisters and clos- est family members.

He had been fighting Man- tle Cell Lymphoma since January of 2018, battling his illness with a war- spirit. Born in Louisville on July 9, 1967, Chris grad- uated from the University of Louisville with a degree in graphic design. He was a Creative Director for Power Agency. Creativity infused his professional and personal life. His work was inspiring, and he taught and guided his children with an artistic spirit.

Chris touched the lives of everyone he knew. He was respected, endeared, and so fun to be around. He was easy to love. Chris is preceded in death by his Aunt Pat, Patricia Drury. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kath- leen Colby; children Julia and Gavin; his parents, Martha Drury Colby of Louisville, Velden Colby of Citra, FL, and; siblings, Dennis Colby, Cheryl Wellerding (John), Deana Cray- croft (Billy) and Glen Colby; nine nieces and nephews, Brent, Ryan, Evelyn Grace, Elias, Ethan, Nicholas, Madeline, Cooper and Norah.

Chris, Kate, Julia and Gavin share a love that will never end. Kathleen will ensure that their children carry spirit and memory in their hearts forever. A memorial service will take place Thursday, June 27 at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bards- town Road, beginning at 6 p.m. Visitation will also be Thursday from 3 p.m. until the service.

Chris Colby LOUISVILLE Doro- thy Fow, 89, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Satur- day, June 22, 2019. She was born on De- cember 7, 1929 in Lou- isville, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry Fow, daughters, Gerry Rose Hogan, and Terry Ann White, grandchild, Deborah Pryor, and brother John Coffey. Dorothy is survived by her sister Lucille Conway, grandchild, Kellie Hogan, great- grandchildren, Mea- ghan Bailey, Kyle Bai- ley, and Kristen Bailey, great-great grandchil- dren, Teeghan Finnan, and Ivy Finnan. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
