the flu shot crisis over the Cowlitz County Health Department has started offering flu shots for people who drop in at the clinic As of Dec 20 Cowlitz County lifted all restrictions on who can get vaccinated Now health agencies are encouraging more people to get vaccinated as the peak of the flu season arrives The county health department PeaceHealth clinics and Workplace Wellness Kaiser Permanente Child and Adolescent Clinic and the Pediatric Clinic all have vaccine The health department will provide shots through January or until their supply runs out during regular business hours winter storm watch Thursday afternoon for late Friday night through Saturday and Sunday The watch covers the inland portions of Southwest Washington and from the Coast Range eastward in Northwest Oregon from the Central Willamette Valley north and the western Columbia Gorge Cold dry air is forecast to spread through the Columbia River Gorge into Southwest Washington and Northwest Oregon on Friday Then moisture from an approaching warmer moist Pacific weather system will spread precipitation into the area The precipitation may start as snow Friday night and early Saturday with an inch or two possible in the lower elevations The precipitation is expected to change into freezing rain over much of the lower elevations west of the Cascades on Saturday as warmer air spreads over the
