a teacher in McGhec i lived with her sisters at 9 Ves Elementary School, died at 2:15 per Lock Haven, and was a.m. todav in Divine Providence employed in the office of Smith Hospital, Williamsport. A retired Bell Telephone Co. station repairman, Mr. Edler had been in his usual health when he became ill last Wednesday while visiting in Williamsport.

He was admitted to the hospital at that time. Born in Mill Creek Lycoming County, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William H. Edler.

he had lived in Lock Haven 52 years. He began as a telephone lineman in Williamsport in 1903 and transferred to Lock Haven in 1910. At the time of his retirement in October, 1949, he was honored by co-workers at a luncheon and presented with a gold service pin. Mr. Edler had driven more than 200,000 accident-free mites during his employment by Bell Telephone.

He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, and a charter member of the Hundred Thousand Mile Club. He belonged to St. John's Lutheran Church in Lock Haven, the Elbow Fish and Game Club of Salladasburg. and Ama- Coal Yard, died at 5:40 a.m. today in the Lock Haven Hospital where she had been a patient three weeks.

She had been in "I health since undergoing surgery last December. Miss Smith was born in Lock Haven, a daughter in the large family of the late Mr. and 'Mrs. Sylvester F. Smith.

She was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ. Surviving are ten brothers zon Lodge, 662, I.O.O.F., Williamsport. In addition to his daughter he is survived by two brothers and two sisters: John Mrs. Irene C.

Blaisdell. and Mrs. Walter Nicholson of Williams- and Christian F. Edler, St. Petersburg, Fla.

A son, Richard Edler, died in November, 1960. Frederick W. Karchner An extended illness resulted in death yesterday for Frederick W. Karchner, 59, of Lamar, who died in the Lock Haven Hospital at 4:15 p.m. He had been a patient since Mar.

8, after an earlier hospitalization of 140 days. Mr. Karchner was a native of Greene Loganton R.D. 2. where he was born Aug.

17, 1907, a son of Henry and Hattie Rishel Karchner. He had lived in Sugar Valley, Mill Hall and the Lock Haven area all his life. Until he became ill he was employed by Piper Aircraft Corp. He was a member of the Mill Hall Church of Christ. Four brothers and two sisters survive: Clair Karchner, Loganton R.D.; Richard, and Mrs.

Mary Lansberry, Woodland; Rishel of Mill Hall R.D., superintendent of Susque View in Lock Haven; Kenneth, Lock Haven, and Miss Ruth, Muncy R.D. J. Frank Hardy and sisters: Robert, Joseph George Donald and William Lock Haven; the Misses Esther, Erma and Dorothy, at home; Mrs. Wayne Cautter, Philadelphia, and James Smith, Mill Hall. Mrs.

Mangos Conway RENOVO Mrs. Ella Me- Kimm Conway, 72, of 324 Erie died Sunday at 6 p.m. in the Williamsport Hospital. She had been ill six months, a patient in the Renovo hospital two months, and a patient at Williamsport since April 6. Mrs.

Conway was the widow of Mangus Conway who died in 1948. She was born Sept. 7, 1894 at Driftwood, a daughter of Barney and Jennie Fink McKimm. She had lived in this vicinity, including the Westport area, for 45 years. Mr.

and Mrs. Conway had been married in 1916 at Clearfield. Mrs. Conway was a member of Zion's Lutheran Church in Renovo. Surviving are a son, Charles Conway, Big Run; a daughter, Mrs.

Sylvester Stroup, Renovo; three sisters and five brothers, Mrs. Mary Lukenvich, Barney McKimm, and Jess McKimm, Driftwood; Mrs. Grace Fink, Bradford; Mrs. Stella Eggler, Hyner; John McKimm, Clear- rfield; Edward and Asa McKimm, Emporium; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. George McKimm, another brother, died three weeks ago in Emporium.

Tammy Lee Romanesky Committal services were at 11 a. m. today in Highland CAR LANDS ON TRAILER OCCUPANT An automobile, out of control, struck the steps of a Rauchtown home this morning at 7:05 and continued on crashing through one end of a mobile home and came to rest on a splintered bed, pinning Mrs. Mary Eck. Her husband, Foster Eck, was at the other end of the home and escaped injury.

Mrs. Eck was under the car, shown below, with shattered wall, bed and lamp. She was taken to the Jersey Shore Hospital. Mrs. Eck's injuries were not determined but her condition was reported satisfactory.

(Express Photos) Cemetery, Tammy Lock Lee Haven, for Romanesky, STROUDSBURG J. Frank Hardy. 77, of Analomink, died at 11 p.m. Saturday in the Mon- rrc County General Hospital, following two months of illness. He was the husband of tie Herman Hardy, a native of A Loganton, Clinton County.

The Hardys have a summer home at Loganton. Mr. Hardy was born at Cresco, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Hardy.

He retired seven years ago as a section foreman after 48 years of employment by the D. L. and W. Railroad. He was a member of the Methodist Church at Analomink and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Jack L. Hardy, East Stroudsburg; William Ana- Jomink; two daughters, Mrs. Clarence Stetler, East Stroudsburg R.D. Mrs. Arthur Mim- Jirsch, Easton; 25 grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs.

Lulu Reisenwitz, East Stroudsburg, and Mrs. Lillian Englert, Cres- CO. Charles L. Krise Charles L. Krise, 48, who has been seriously ill as a diabetic for some years, died at 10.15 p.

m. Saturday in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Altoona where he had been a patient three months. His death was attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Krise, born in Lock Haven Feb.

14, 1919, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Krise, was last employed by the Jersey Shore Steel Co. He had served in the U. S.

Air daughter of Michael C. and Deborah L. Smith Romanesky, 338 High Williamsport, who died eight minutes after her birth Saturday morning at the Williamsport Hospital. The Rev. John E.

Snook, minister of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, officiated for the service. The baby is survived by her parents and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Romanesky, Lock Haven R.

Wagner, 89, who had lived at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Heltman, on Mill Hall R.D. 1 for two years, died at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, at the Lock Haven Has pital where he had been a patient for three weeks. Mr.

Wagner was born in Col- lumsville. He. had lived most of his Me in Nippenose Valley where he had farmed, retiring 13 years ago. His wife, the former Minnie Cashner, died in 1951. Mir.

Wagner was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Collumsville. He is survived by four sons, Robert Williamsport; Dean Jersey Shore R.D. Eugene, Wflhamsport R.D. 3, and Jack, Jersey Shore; 11 daughters; Mrs.

Heltman; Mrs. John Samuel Harvey. She was th widow of James A. Stevenson whose death occurred in 1949. She was a member of Mi Hall Presbyterian Church.

Her daughter and one grand daughter, Frances E. Dorman survive. Swineheart; Mrs. Reha Winchester, Jersey Shore; Mrs. Samuel Lehman and Mrs.

1, and Carmine M. Russo, 364 E. Walnut collided in front of the Welch service station in Dunnstown at 11:45 Saturday night. Police said that Myers had stopped at the station. When he swung out from the station onto the highway to return to Lock Haven his car collided with the Russo car.

The tornadoes, spawned by the collision of warm and cold air masses, dealt their worst blow at Keosauqua, Iowa, late Sunday, killing one person and injuring a dozen more. Other damaging twisters were reported in South Dakota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Other storms brought new snow to New England and heavy rain to part of the Pacific Northwest. A tornado hit Owosso, a city of 17,000 in lower-central Michigan shortly before midnight, tore a service station from its concrete foundations, and set it down in the middle of Highway 21.

The storm knocked out part of the city's electric power and blacked out the town of Corunna, three miles to the east. It also took roofs off two buildings, uprooted a tree and burled it and a house, and damaged five airplanes.
